12 ft fibreglass -contacts

Greetings.. and Selamat Hari Raya!

I’m looking for a 12 ft fibreglass boat around KL/Selangor/Perak area so as long as it’s not more than 2 hours away from KL. Preference is of course brand new but will consider used too.

I’ve called the explorer marine and they are cut throat! Perhaps someone can provide some contacts of boat maker here? It will be useful for any angler in the future too.

Thanks!

Brother,
Where you want to go fishing? Do you have facilities to carry the boat? Perhaps some forumers are willing to share their boats with you.

Bro Piscator

I’m from KL. I usually rent boats up in Perak area but i’m tired of the boat men saying they are out of boat on weekends. I cant book way too early because my work schedule arent exactly predictable. Hence the need to buy a boat haha

Im installing a Thule roof rack next week and i’ve sourced out thruster, deep cycle charger and battery. All i need now is just to go get them but all is useless without a boat. I’ve been quoted prices for 10 footer but i much prefer a 12 ft. Have you got 1 to share? Hahaha

Anyway thanks for the suggestion. Cheers![8D]

Will email you privately.

Any other folks know where I can get a boat at a good price? Haha

have a canoe for sales interested email me slee18@gmail.com location in subang.

No thanks.

behrang quite famous for fiberglass boats. Explorer Marine boats are of high quality. i presume they would use marine grade wood instead of the cheap plywood as a base. inturn it will last longer. ever sat in a cheap decaying boat before? weights a tonne and delamination will occur after several years.

imho i think getting a boat is easy, try getting a good outboard motor is harder. when u got a motor, ppl with boat will show up =)
u get to pick the reliable kakis, this is where u separate the leeches and balls carrier.

anyone got used scanoe 12-14ft i’m interested

kill the friggin’ netters

thanks wusharox

i made a few calls to behrang to check price and they are quite affordable. less than half the cost of the same size boat from Explorer Marine. i think you’re right about the quality of the boat but frankly i’ve never sat on a cheap decaying boat before. i’m going up to Behrang this friday to take a look at the boats before i make any decision. i’m leaning towards the ones from EM though.

i have a few reliable kakis and we fished together for a few years now. thanks buddy for contributing cheers!

Fishy, agree totally with wusharox on quality. Have seen a number of el cheapo fibres abandoned or just dumped. My EM 12 footer's hull is robust and still going strong with another owner altho the seats have caved in from bearing XXXL sized anglers. Only minor diy repairs needed on the seats and hollows are now filled up with foam. Enjoy.

Brother,

Seats of my aluminium boat and even my Inka Linder Canoe 465 Light, are filled with foam by the manufacturers and unsinkable. Now I am also thinking of filling my canoe outrigger with foam. May I know where you get it done and what is the cost. The outriggers will be made of 6in diameter poly tubes. Thanks for the info.

for fun and low cost, get the el-cheapo fiberglass.

but if you’re serious in this, don’t be stingy. get the best aluminum car-topper. they’re expensive but it last forever and handles far better than any fiberglass car-topper.

remember, you’re the one who will be sitting in that. never compromise safety when you’re boating out there…

my recent bad experiences with fiberglass car-topper makes me think twice to get them. just imagine what would you do if the transom suddenly cracked and gave away upon acceleration? pls don’t let this happen to you…

take my advise and go get those aluminum ones…

His boat is Italian job SELVA.

My Selvarajoo outboard and Etamax Express sold oledi ahh… no time to do serious fishing due to work commitment, hence before the dust become thicker and thicker, better trade it off to get telephoto lens for my current hobby - nature and bird photography. few hours on Sunday is just enough for this while fishing takes longer time arr.. eheheheh

Etamax has launched a 14 footer Express recently. Neoh took it to Kenyir and I was the first person doing a test ride.

It’s a wonderful watercraft, spacious, planes easily, very nimble, handle the chops heavenly and fast enough with 15hp outboard (although it was rated 40hp)

I saw it in Explorer Marine sometime ago. Very heavy and tough. With the v hull and flat stern, handling should be superb like a 14 footer Lowe.

I had tried a 14 footer Lowe of about 60 kg propelled by a 2 hp. At that speed it is very good for our dams with lots of floating timber. At least you dont get a big dent when you have a collision.

Unfortunately it is too heavy to be used as a cartopper. Do you know the price?

Compare to my former 12 footer Express, the weight feels about the same (should be lighter because it says the weight is 60kg). mine is the old production using thicker aluminum plate (tougher, but heavier which I estimate more than 80kg)

60kg is sap sap sui worr because my former is heavier. I can speeding 140kmh easily on LPT heading to Kenyir with my Proton Iswara with the cartopper loaded on the roof rack… seriously, no joke… this is because the car gained extra downforce with the cartopper is in place.

Price you have to check with Neoh. But I believe more than RM5k

Most of the boats, once sold, are hard to get back. Imported ones are no more being imported due to exchange rates and freight. And others are getting more pricy until it burns a hole in your pocket to get one. If you have kept your Express, I believe it is fetching the price you had paid for it or more.

ekekekek… it’s a compromise between underused, hard to letgo (sayang because it serve me very well) and the urge to buy new toy.

from my experience, Etamax is highly recommended. very stable fishing platform while very fast and seaworthy (yup, I have tested it in Port Klang). I also tested the Savage but it seems to be a bit slower at 1-2 knots. maybe due to underside ribbing design.
