I just got one today. cant figure out the centrifugal brakes though. C? F?.. But the reel casts super far. Better than the STX because I was casting all day and no Backlashes. The STX needs much thumbing. This one seems to have a brain of it’s own. I think that this is one of those reels where abu is testing the new technology.

The above picture by demon 6 is with the old centrifugal design. the new salty stage centrifugal is completely different.
mrtoman, i’m seriously considering salty stage too. yours is the bj version right? 7.1:1 right? is that the one? am considering between that n the stx or even toro winch (which is significantly slower than the others). which would u recommend is i wanna take it to sea too?

The Salty stage has another two models that have a bigger spool and a power handle. I would recommend this version compared to the STX. The winch on the other hand has a lower ratio and would have more power cranking. good for the bigger fish.
I got the BJ for shore casting and not to take it to sea. this version has a shallow spool and only takes about 100m of 15lb spider wire.
It all depends on your need. I also was impressed with the way the BJ looked. Very stylo.
