HSS 6112 MH - this is a spinning rod, 8 - 20 lb, and retails for about RM 332.00.

Good buy if it is in good condition.

A bit too stiff for payponds - but just nice for wild ponds, irrigation ditches. etc.

spinning or casting?

i lost both my casting ones of the same rating just less than a month after each purchasing…

first one end up at the bottom of FV… second one broke when striking a fish in fv… after that… history lahhh!

good nice n light rod, typical of JDM product, downside is very sensitive, fragile and need lots of attention(note: i’m not the only one who broke the rod, many, i mean really a lot of others do altho i give it TLC the best i could)… i like it… but as u know, cant afford to have another one anymore heheh, cheers.

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

Sorry thought it was baitcasting rod. If so would have sailanged already haha Thanks for the offer and if you find anymore good deals please don’t hesitate to share here

yup sort of bro heheh… tat’s y it’s advisable to loosen up your drag a lil when using this rod

besides i think it;s not too good a crankbait rod… it work very damn well with soft plastic or soft swimbait… i actually love using the 6foot11 for sp application due to its sensitivity and good hook up ratio… but using crankbait no, maybe if loosen up the drag its ok however i like to strike hard to ensure good hookup tho

not a problem to land big fish… ask wong sifu aka wkl la, ultralight can bring up gt edi… but application wise i think its off mark

question: if i can get another bc 6ft11 hornet or not, asnwer: definitely would, but for soft plastic application only and the price must be low

yes abu may be very tahan, but JDM product are not really in tat area imho, anyone can refute this but its my opinion ma. i’ve seen many abu reel broken down too esp the cheap ones… but really not much if its made in sweden product, actually so far seen none unless those really old and put to super harsh abuse thru the years one i’ve seen one b4 broken down n tat’s about it

just my 2 cent bro…

The " HSS " denotes a spinning rod, and the " HSC " is the casting version.

im using this rod but 4 baitcaster reel
i am using 8-16lb and 8-20lb
this rod performance is godd bcoz it is light n my hand didnt feel tired

Confirmed what Mike had said. HSS = Spin, HSC = Cast.

Till this moment I just cant understand how fishos can break rods while fighting a fish unless they:

1] Dont understand the limits of the rods
2] Mismarriage of rod, reel and line
3] Pure abuse of rods

For fishos who always break their rods, i recommend they go for ultra cheap eglass rods. Use it to whack snakes also wont break[:D][:D][:D]…just joking la</font id=“purple”>

Using too heavy lures too.

i also seldom see ppl break their rods while fishing, but i’ve heard many ppl have had their hornet stinger tips break while fishing. n most of them r not beginners. they r ppl who’ve fished for a long time n know how to properly use fishing equipment. somehow, also patah.
still, many ppl swear by it because of the sensitivity, plus quality components.

Sailang the two rods lah, very cheap, the price is below cost. Only bad anglers break their rods, they should use broom stick[:D][:D][:D]

There are many ways to weaken the rod until it finally breaks - let’s take an example.

4 experienced fishos out in a 4WD where the rods are fully rigged for quick action, but placed in the back with the tips overhanging the roof line. One low branch later, and the 2 G Loomis’ got rearranged - no breaks yet - but it will likely happen one fine day.

1 experienced fisho, rushing to meet another with 3 rods in his rod bag alongside his motor bike. Guess who managed to break 3 rods at the same time ?

We just have to be more careful when we go for the higher graphite content rods - and the Hornets even feel brittle when you handle them, but Thomas is right - " Sailang them " - but take care of them when you move around. What you cannot see can come back to cause a breakage later.

… and Yeah, they are more sensitive than the broom sticks !!! [:D][:D][:D]

I agree with Mike. Fishos tend to have nightmares due to “mishandling” of rods during transportation or storage process. However, if a fisho offered their equipments the proper tender loving care at all times, then accidents can be minimised or even omitted all together, not forgetting that even broomsticks can break too[:D]

I know them rods are cheap or even below cost but if I were to sailang the 2 rods, what am I gonna do with the surplus? Anyway, mad professor aka startrek will take 1. There is still 1 surplus.[B)]</font id=“purple”>
