ABU REVO ELITE CB Grand Prix

Today just grab a Elite CB GP Low Profile bait casting reel.
I believe this version is de lightest bait casting reel in abu reels.
I have never try this reel wit any hook up yet cos is still new and not even load wit line.
Any bros or experts mind to share some experience and commend on this reel?
how to compare this version wit de new salty stage or inshore?
Thank U in advance!

Revo Premier is lighter…

inshore much heavier n salty stage heavier

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

Thanx for your advise!
you mean the TOP of the range or value for price?
Wish 1 is de most value for price?
Do u mean Premier is de best low profile BC reel.?

Hehehe nope bro…

I just merely reply to ur question bro lol i wasnt even good at bc, paiseh paiseh…

i mean the revo premier is lighter than the elite you’ve bought, not necessary most value for price or top range mate… I just dunno anything else other than their apparent spec bro

Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you

Anyway thanx for ur suggestion n opinion.
Im only a beginer and hav lease experience in low profile bc.
some how i guess u r right the premier is should be de best choice but hard to find 1 either.
sorry for all my post tat confusing u ppls.

just saw the revo elite CB GP today… super light with carbon fibre(looks like it la) handle… i think lighter than the premier…the elite CB might be heavier than the premier, but this elite CB “GP” different leh… not sure as can’t find any details online… maybe only available in Malaysia?

maybe philmuscle could clarify? hehehe

Nice reel but Elite IB seems more aesthetically attractive. definitely not the lightest Abu low profile reel but they are build to last, like most Abu’s.

My fishing site @ http://fishingboy.multiply.com/

i saw this reel yesterday..
my opinion is..fall in love at the first sight..
i wish i can get one..[:p]

fishing is much more than catching fish…its about…</font id=“Andale Mono”></font id=“size3”></font id=“orange”>

wow..mr zauber is here..r u planning to take them??i know that u will buy it when u saying something like that..btw let test it for the sake of mfn member..hehe

REVO ELITE MB 9+1/6.4:1/189g
REVO ELITE CB 9+1/6.4:1/189g
REVO ELITE IB 9+1/6.4:1/198g
Revo ELITE CB GP 9+1/6.4:1/179g
REVO SKT 10+1/6.4:1/190g
REVO PREMIER 5+1/6.4:1/179g
REVO PREMIER II 9+1/6.4:1/189g

Hmmm so in term of weight,
So Elite CB GP is same with Premier…

And the new 2010 premier is heavier by 10g due to its bearing?

Well thanx for all the supportive input…
So I guess is very clear that with 9+1 BB of Elite CB GP is lighter then Premier that only using 5+1 BB
So in accordingly that Elite CB GP is the lighter of the same abu range LP reels.
with only a change of the handle that make it out stand all others in weight but i think they wont make the same to killing their own model.

the revo elite cb gp…

i saw it earlier today. it was really light. felt a little too light. actually, to me, it felt kinda cheap. it didn’t feel solid when i held it.
i’ve held the alphas which is at 180g, just 1 gram heavier than this revo elite CB GP. n even the alphas feels much more solid. even the steez also feels much more solid despite it being even lighter.
just giving my opinion la.

on the other hand, i’m curious to know how it performs… how has it worked out for u, phillip?

yea… do keep us informed of the performance…

tokey kedai told me elite CB GP max drag 6kg..

testing 1 2 3..

I’m using a Revo Elite CB. So far no problem with the reel. Casts light lures heavy lures well. No char bee hoon. Not sure about the GP never seen it yet.

But what I know is Elite was like a Japanese upgrade of Premier which has lots of complaints.

Ending up wit 1 last pc order frm Pure fishing.
well dam good feel when casting weight frm 5g -25g
but cranking power is a bit tough to compare with 5:1 reels
overall after cast for 3days for toman and sebarau is wont feel tied
the accuracy ans sensitivity are almost perfect pair with sufix Y6 30lbs with 135yards
I personally have not much to complain at this price that i paid for.

cool… thanks for the update philip… Was considering getting a Revo SX… now maybe will consider this Elite CB GP liao… not so worried about cranking power since most fish nowadays seldom exceed 5kg (at least for me la… [:p]) more concerned about the performance like casting light lures and tendency to charbeehoon (in low brake settings)

just curious wat rod did u pair it with?

Thank for your reading CHUN,
well this reel is nt the top of the range yet but u stil have another option frm ABU selection, maybe you can take a look at the Elite IB and it strong recomended by a senior forumer in here.
Well if you have a slightly heavy budget try out the Daiwa Alpha Type-R, TD Zillion n 50 aniversary edition since now they all having a promotion in all tackle outlet if im not mistaken.

to pare with the rod I will prefer a Abu Fantasista or Hornet Stinger.
Other then that Abu brand u can choose a Major Craft or MegaBass rod it dam cool but you have to choose the right action to suite your style.

thanks for the update… hmm Elite IB saw it in some jap site… haven’t seen the real one yet though… i went and check out the elite CB GP again that day and noticed that it’s using centrifugal… which is a big downside for ME ler…troublesome to change brake settings… so i guess will wait for the new 2010 revo SX. saw my friend’s new 2010 revo STX which has the dual centri and mag brake system… quite cool… not sure if the revo SX has that, some ppl say got some say don’t have… maybe someone here can clarify…

ooh… hornet stinger heh… considering that also ler… just price point a bit high.. not sure if there’s some more economical 2pc BC rods that’s suitable… looking at rapala, ryobi regno etc..
