bro binjai…forget about the abu viper thingy laa..if you see it the next time just grab it if the price is right for you…if your present rod is still in decent condition just use it maa…maybe use a smaller reel, smaller diameter line and adjust your casting technique here n there…who knows that will help…
btw…me tot tonite is the better time to fish?

bro 12footer… down wif fever lah, otherwise wud have gone there… my current surf rod is kinda heavy lar bro, after 10 or so casts, i’d start wondering whether to retrieve the line or let it be that way until sumthin’ hit it, which in many cases is not gonna happen… so, wif a lighter rod i’d be able to check 'em baits every 5 mins. or so… more chances of hitting it big time rite? anyway, just my 2 sen lah…

ive seen it land a 9kg at padang temu before, just that u need to hose the rod down after use. the rings tend to rust up. its light which makes it nice to use for casting. friends used to load it with no 6 sinkers. no prob.

just recovered from fever lar bro… so no surfcasting during the weekend… just trying my BC outfit that i recently acquired lah, still practising wif my casting together wif the occasional backlash or two…
frankly, this viper is 'lil bit hard to find nowadays rite? but i havent given up hope yet… coz maybe just somewhere somehow someone might just have a piece in his tackleshop for me to buy hehe… im that hopeful

bro 12footer… thx for da info. the new ultracast any good? still slim version rite? a bit phobic of rods wif thick trunks like pokok kelapa hehe… dont mind saving up a lil bit more to get it… not in a hurry to acquire them rods anyway… might need to pay a visit lar to sy. kepong one fine day & bring loads of cash too…

no hal bro…i was there and it give me the opportunity to assist you in gathering the info..
i dunno about the performance of the rod but i think it should suit your needs…the rod is even slimmer that that of abu viper and the color is indeed gorgeous…i would advise you to make a budget of around RM500 and it is best if you could come down to kl to have a look at the rod itself…with the amt of money to boot you will definitely have a bigger range to choose from be it abu..shimano..Loomis etc…the choice is exclusively yours..
