Action, Size, or Colour

When choosing a lure, what is the priority you prefer.

Is it the action, size, or colour ??

Have left out the ‘depth’ factor as not to complicate the comparision.

color for me quite important coz recent visit to various lubuks, killer lure in that particular color does not work at all at the other lubuk

I think color very important. One time when I went fishing I try out this walk the dog lure that I bought from thailand. Its a cheapo lure that has no action but has very nice color. I cast and try to make the walk the dog action but cannot the lure just keep coming straight. But the PBs keep attacking it.

fish feels more then it sees / smell, so action always come first [:)]
if 2 lures with same action design and depth, then of course the next factor will be colour.

i don’t really care bout the size of the lure, but the size of the hooks. smaller fish may sometimes attack big lure, but due to big hook, the result will most likely to no hook or foul hook [:P]

guys,
lets keep the $$$$ aside n assume that there is a year end sales [:D]

i would go for action / depth / color / size

but hv always find that choosing the action is the most difficult part where one can only rely on

  1. whatever tackle shop boss says
  2. whatever review we read
  3. whatever my fishing mate says

its nice that some lure manufacturer show action of their lure in motion but only a handfully of them do that [:(]

action…

i usually go for lures that i can master and have cought fish on it. i believe every lure can catch a fish given a right setting. my current trend is suspending/slow sinking jerk baits… when cranked, it swims like an injured fish. when twitched it darts erraticly. when left alone, it reaches a depth and stays almost motionless. a real puppet i would say.

for me, when using shallow runner, colour maybe one of the major factor. but when using deep diver or vibration lure, then colour become secondary after the action. for top water & poppers, i don’t think the fish can see clearly the colour [:P]

I`m a night caster…for me

  1. Action
  2. Size
  3. Color Tone…not exactly the color..but the contrast and the brightness of lure. In the night, color not very important, but the action like rolling, making black back and silver body lure (example) emm…like twinkle twinkle little star laa…

ACTION / DEPTH / COLOUR
Size doesn’t really matter. Like Yeapwl mentioned even small fish attack big lures…so hooks size and quality play important role..
