Ant Fly

Tying an ant fly… [:)][:)]


Hook size 16…


Black Foam for body


Dubbing for abdomen


Black Deer hair / Elk hair hitam for legs


Dubbing for thorax


A drop of super glue near the hook eye to secure the thread.


Cut excessive deer / elk hair for legs


Bend deer hair / elk hair using a tweezer.


Completed ant fly :smiley:

Thanks for the great post and picture. Do you catch toman with ‘ant’ flies as well? Interesting… I have not tie my own flies before. Lack of time and equipment (no vice, and other fly tying equipment . Usually I will buy the flie. I guess, one of these days I will tie them myself. :slight_smile:

Tying flies is indeed interesting… but when the fish takes the fly u tied… that is the BEST part!!! Satisfying!!! [^]

I believe you must have seen Pak Amin tie this black ant fly at Tacklebox right? Becoz it look EXACTLY like the one he ties.

Totally agree with you. Feel like tying some to try it out. I got to try using ant for tilapia. Thanks! :slight_smile:
