Australian Fly Fishing Barra & Toman By BKKGUY

Today I have a wonderful day, doing fly fishing with my Australia angler friend in Thailand.

Countless of barra on popper flies !!! Landed a few beautiful toman (snakehead) & pacu on flies too !!!

The morning was shinning and great but wasnā€™t great enough for our popper flies.
All barra fishes were laying low and at the bottom of the pond.

We did catch a handful of barra on bottom flies in the morning but still our ultimate aim is to land a few on our popper flies.

After lunch, the weather slightly cooler & cloudy.
This time round, those barra fishes were just crazy about topwater popper flies.

As an avid angler himself , Patrick was landing like 1 cast 1 fish. Damn shiok !!! :wink:
I also managed to land 4-5 fishes on my popper flies yesterday.
It was fun !!! :slight_smile:

I was too indulged to pop the barra that I overlook checking my shock leader after 4-5 fishes landed, my popper flies got a clean cut insteadā€¦ haha !!!

Self made fliesā€¦

After our barramundi fishing, we proceed to another fishing ground for toman.
Patrick has always wanted to catch the toman using his flies .
Fly fishing in the wild for toman, is very challenging & difficult.

Fishing in a designated toman pond is the best he can get his flies on those ferious predator fishesā€¦ :slight_smile:

Now it time to move over to try out their pacu pond.. :wink:

Patrick landed like 3-4 pacu fishe , it was much easy than the toman.
But we have to go, it was a tough day fly fishing whole day !!!

He has been there !! Done it !!! Now go back Australia a happy manā€¦ :wink:
He will be posting his bkk fly fishing trip back to his Australia fishing site.
