I can vouch for that, more poison here:

Hi Guys,

Above are pictures from last trip made by XZOGA TEAM to Freementle for the SAMSON EXPEDITION. They were on board SALTWATER CHARTER WA under the guidance of Capt.Craig who took them out to a spot about an hour and a half from Freementle, the dept was about 120 meter, strike zone from 100 to 80 meter. Jigs used were from 300 to 500gm. All the XZOGA RODS FROM PE4 TO PE8 were put to the extreme punishment by the Sambo from 30 to 50 kg. The highlight of the trip was by Steven Chong who was connected to a big mama sambo which was made an easy lunch by some notorious sharks. Steven reeled up the head which was estimated to be about 30kg. It was good fishing by any standard, everyone had a fair chance of fighting with the samson which attributed to numerous multiple hookups.

Jonathan & Adrian, forget about teats and sweet lips, go for the SAMBO GUYS!!

Jon,
the samson season is between late nov and feb so mid Jan is not exactly early.
I think jan is better because the water is warmer than dec or nov. They come in to breed so maybe they are getting hornier and hornier. Hornier means more agreession. hehehe. but feb probably all spent!

Thomas,

Ok, you asked for it you get it:

The above rods are tested and proven on
fishes below 40kg. Discounting abuse and accident, the rods are capable of
handling monsters of 100kg and above at 45 degrees angle with 15kg plus drag if you can handle.

Thomas,
after our trip maybe Craig will convert all his rods to Thomas Stroker rods hehehehe
I am still drooling over the butt joints - nice looking
It is obvious from the photos above I have not bent your rods enough yet! The first photo is probably my biggest bend to date. I am sure we will get a beeter curve in Perth.
Pity the SBT charter won’t let me use my rod as the reel was loaded with braid!
Hey you forgot to put 101010 on my new rod this year hahaha

[:D][:D][:D] You already have nice curve with you, but no harm have more curves in time to come. I bet you will meet your match
soon, then you will appreciate those rods better.

May I suggest you order a new rod with 101010 printed on it, I already have bookings
of several rods with that unique numbers.

U’re right Ben, they get hornier and more aggressive during that time of the year..hehehehe. Expect sore arms and back mate! Good fun!
Looking forward to my next trip there too…when exactly are u goin? Perhaps if the timing is right, we could be on the same boat[:D]

Pelanduk,
please let me know once flights are confirmed, I will then make the booking. Can you call F2r2 to tell him the dates and get him to confirm too?

Hi Ben,
I’d highly recommend Craig cos when I was there last.. his boat’s size is just nice for us to fish for the Samsons and they’ve got good food…
Anyway, looking at the calendar and your proposed date/s…
I’d say we’ll (got to check with Adrian first) fly in on the:
8/1 (Sat)
9/1 Sun) - hang around Perth
10/1 (Mon) - fish Samsons
11/1 (Tues) - fish Samsons
12/1 (Wed) - would like to fish but may have to catch the flight back

Alternatively, we could go for:

11/1 - arrive late to Perth
12/1 - start fishing
13/1 - continue to fish
14/1 - again fish
15/1 - RNR
16/1 - Back

Let me check with TA and get back to you soon…
Cheers, Jon
