I was just wondering…aren’t there anymore catches from you???
Well, you never fail us then… good catch man, do you eat this fish???
Bro Onn caught about this size once with me in Pantai Lanun, Penyabung and he ate the whole fish!
MSC
Haha…Thanks for your concern. Just that the fishes here are now more fearful of taking my bait as they know the chances of eating it without pay is very slim.[:p] Haha…Maybe now the fishes world are more advance now with high tech gear that can detect my bait present and stay distance away.[;)]
Yup…I scale n cut it up and bring home the whole fish as my friends all went home already and no one to share as we normally did.

Yes, the bait that I use is defrost tamban. Usually I will caught fresh tamban and store up in the freezer for future trip use.
Here is how i store my tamban:
1)Freshly caught and left it to wind dry a bit.
2)Reach home take out two layer of old newspaper.
3)Place about 10 tambans in line on the newspaper and wrap it up.
4)Place all the wrap up packets in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer.
Doing this will prevent the tamban come in contact with any ice or water. It will keep the tamban fresh and dry for month. Will only take out the amount I needed for the trip.
Baiting:
Upon reaching my fishing spot, will open up the wrap up bait to defrost. Once it soften, it will be place in the ice cooler box to maintain it freshness.
When come to use, I will use a bait needle to thread in my wire hook. I poke the bait needle as close to the tamban back bone as possible so that the wire will be at the centre of the tamban. This will help prevent it from tearing during casting and also a better bait presentation.
Sometime will also cut off the tamban tail before threading it. This will help more streamline and less resistance during casting and winding back.
As for the size of tamban, Usually is between 3 to 5 inches long. It just nice to fit in on a 4/0 to 5/0 long shank hook.

what kind of distance you usually get with your Torium 20 ? It is heavy compare to my Torium14. Any problem with backlash?
Haha…I cast with 30lbs line + 40lbs mono leader with a size 7 sinker n 120lbs mono rig body on a 10.6ft rod. If without bait can reach 100 meter. With big bait 80 meter. Ya…it more heavy as compare to the T14. Me no backlash with any reel. Season already. I had cast those old penn n daiwa reel which is no bearing and some even without the side cap. With this new modern reel, it is super smooth cast. I love the super loud alarm. Very shoik when U here it sounded when fish pull.
