Wild animals or breed animals has life(nyawa) too, there is no different. I caught a wild stingray, i released it…i also caught a breed arapaima, i also release it…well, moderators are human too…peace bro…[:D]

My point is simple. You are not a vegetarian, neither am I. We have no problems eating the flesh of dead animals right? Only difference is mine has to be Halal lah. I keep some of the fish I catch if it is my intention to put them to good use. Generally I release everything else. I am glad that you agree so wholeheartedly with me and release some of your fish. That is a step in the right direction.
The difference between an abundant animal bred for food such as a cow being eaten is that they are not really in short supply. Why kill a GT that is not as abundant, not nice to eat and especially as you all seem talented enough to catch plenty of superior table specimens.
Life is precious. So why extinguish life so unnecessarily? It is no different than bringing home a few colemans full of sailfish parts. Then again that may be acceptable to some.
Of course you do not have to agree with me. It is of no consequence nor relevance to me. However it is my opinion that it was pointless to keep the GTs when you obviously caught an abundance of palatable fish.
Again you are right. Moderators are human. However with so many new and impressionable followers of our great hobby, some of whom look to you for advice, shouldn’t the moderators present themselves to be a good role model? Otherwise what sort of message will be presented on behalf of this forum and what will there be left for the future? Conservation should be the spirit and buzzword of this forum. If there are no more fish, what will become of fishermen, tekong and tackleshop owners?

ps: we anglers are not your enemy. It’s those commercial fisherman that uses illegal ways to catch fish ie TRAWLERS that is damaging the sea life. Trawlers destroy the habitat of fishes while they are trawling thus not allowing fish to breed. Pls say no to trawlers fish mostly found in wet markets and pls learn(and teach) how to see the telltale sign of a trawled fish, we anglers know how to see one…can you…???

Izzy, actually i am trying my very best not to offend you but seems like you really don’t understand what i am trying to say here.
You see, what i am trying to tell you is that we anglers that take our catch back to eat won’t extinguish the fish in the ocean. It’s ppl like you that buy fish from commercial fisherman that is destroying the sea life.
I believe your restaurant do serve fish dishes, right…? Where do you get your fish from…? I believe strongly you buy them from your fish supplier which themselves buy from commercial fisherman. Commercial fisherman uses their fishing method to gain profit irregardless of the sea life. They, the commercial fisherman uses trawlers that destroy the seabed thus not allowing fish to breed again in the future. People like you are the actual culprit that is destroying the sea life. Whale was once near to extinction due to ppl like you overly demanding them and the commercial fisherman happily suppling to ppl like you.
We anglers or sport fisherman that take our catch home to eat won’t extinguish fishes in the ocean. Ignorance ppl like yourself that buy fish from wet markets/commercial fisherman that uses fishing method that prevents fish from breeding that are depleting the sea life. Because of ppl like you fish will actually extinguish in the future. If you want your next generation to see fish in the ocean, please stop serving fish dishes caught by commercial fisherman. If you really care for the fishes in the sea you won’t be selling fish dishes in your restaurant. People like you don’t realize that they are actually the one that is destroying the sea life.

I don’t go to restaurant that serve fish bought from the wet markets…i only eat those fish that i catch myself with rod and line. I also know some restaurant that serve fish bought from anglers(pemancing) which do not disturb the habitat of those fishes because they only uses rod and line. I believe you know what i mean…

Actually we already mention to that tekong to ‘kau’ it’s mouth not body for CPnR… but tekong maybe didn’t understand or misunderstanding. BTW, we eat that GT and we never waste it… Lundu ikan panggang style (b4 fish get freeze).. We caught another 2-3 GTs with same size (almost, even bigger) and released it. We’re angler NOT fisherman and we know about CnR. If you go fishing with me & my group here and you will know. My friend, please don’t judge the picture directly without knowing the situation. We are not Meat Hunter… ha ha ha haaaa[:D][:D]
BTW, there are so many GT near the rigs at bintulu and we never think to target that fish during jigging.
