Guys..need yur comments, I bought a few gamakatsu single hooks for my micro lures n favorites lures..Guess i dun wan it to get snag up..
However wat wud be the success of hookin a fish? looking at the possibilities of one hook vs 3?
To fish or not to fish, tat is da question
all my lures i change to single hooks.
to me, using single hooks, once the hook is set, it’s harder for the fish to shake loose… not so much about making it more ‘weedless’.
it does reduce the odds of getting snagged, but not eliminate the possibility.
hook up rate should be no diff at all.
a few times, experienced better landing rate then others who used trebles.
hook up rate may be lower but landing rate would be higher… which one u choose will make the difference bro
have done the experiment myself and i think i have posted somewhere in the forum
well most my lures too have been changed to single, except when the need of trebles arrised, which is very very rare
single hook have lesser percentage of hookup, but tat translated to better landing rate due to the toughness of the hook(resistant to breakage and bending) and lower percentage of the hook came lose
by the same token, the same can be applied to snag… there;re lesser probability of u snagging up but in the meantime if u did, u r in big trouble… even lure retriever will have a tough time hooking them back up especially u r using only one hook
to minimize snagging the best available option would be to not use any hook at all, well tat defeats the purpose of u fishing to the second best option would be just use a single hook riding upwards at the tail split ring… tat will eliminate almost all snagging probability especially the costly ones. but chances of hooking up a fish also lowered… for me if using an exp or antique tat;s wat i’ll most probably be doing! or a small lure, which the fish would be hooked almost definitely with one gulp
just my 2 cents… cheers
Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you
Many thanks guys for yur sharing..Now i can fish wif more confidence

Do consider the hook size when changing from treble to single
Fun 2 Fish, Fish 4 Fun
change or not change
treble is none better than single and
vice versa…look at the jig for dogtooth..
it is your personal preference bro…
my advice is go for it…then take your pick..
treble or single the goal is the same…catch fish…
