If you think Bangkok-KL 1501km in less than 1 full tank (76 litres) is a miracle, check this out!
Latest Dura-Miles Challenge last month covered 120km Kuching-Serian-Kuching certified by AAM:- Winner 49.71km/l for 3.0 litre catagory! Average competitors returned with consumption 39.7km/l!
Yes, Dmax. I read so many reports about it having very low diesel consumption. Just go ahead. You only pay more for the road tax, the rest is very much the same.
Say you use it for 5 years and then sell it off. You are only paying RM5,000 for the road tax. Not much of a deal. Add it to the price of Dmax and compare it with other petrol cars and you see my reasoning. But think that you have a very powerful 2,500 c.c truck.
So after your purchase, please come to my house to carry those… I shall wait for you.
Long time since our last outing. Let you know when time is right. Might need to get some wild haruans for wify confinement period during yr end.
Have been eyeing for this truck for many months. Need a multi purpose workhorse with plenty of space for the newborn, not forgeting icebox and fishing gears, solidly built and safe on highways, something that can last at least 15-20 yrs, hopefully. Met to few Isuzu owners, all giving thumbs up for durability and low cost of maintenance.
Sales guy that I was dealing with said last month alone after astronomical fuel hike, he managed to sell 20 D-Maxs within a mth and I was the 20th. Just over last weekend another 3 were sold.
2nd refill 899.5km/67.3l(4.7+62.6). 30% highway, 70% city. ~13.4km/l. Red light came off at 853km. Pump twice due to latest reduction of fuel price so FC might be lower due to evaporation lost near to empty tank.
Pretty glad with fuel consumption. FC better than my good old 1.3 satria. But if you are F1 driver, 2.5l probably not your choice. 3.0l as option.
Torque is great, depend on rpm 3-4 gear can push thru when making cornering or u-turn.
Based on the latest budget annoucement, from 1 sept road tax for diesel engine 2.5l and below will be similar with petrol, if not mistaken around $300-$400. But i still pay the old price which is approx $919 with $625 fuel rebate. Believe business registered paying $500+ and think you can claim back from your business taxes.
From the latest development believe the government is learning from other developed countries ie price of diesel and petrol almost the same so road tax in future will be quite similar. Other countries vehicles with bigger cc mostly running on diesel due to better fuel efficiency. Only in this place things are always different due to protection policy. Latest trend forget abt NGV(taking too much space and not many kiosks), even smaller cc say 1.3l also runs on clean diesel euro 4 compliance something like that. Mileage nearly double petrol. Unfortunately
we are always 10-20 yrs behind others, still euro 1 diesel. [:(]
Due to some strange National Automotive Policy drafted to protect local players, many people unaware how much they have been taxed when buying new cars. Check this out, info subject to change.
Pickup consider commercial vehicles as such exempted from min 60->100% excise duty.
That why when u check the price of say Triton compares with Pajero Sport or Ford Ranger compares with Everest price so so much different though engine make about the same.
So sometimes as poor rakyat like us have to bend like Beckham, or bend like Tsu Koon some say .. hehe.
So far so good with Dmax aft 2.5 yrs no matter what others say. Power window got some problem, got it fixed under guarantee for 3 yrs so not a problem anymore.
