I believe you are looking at 8-16 lb range?
another rod within that price range you could consider is the Majorcraft basspara.
Guys, yesterday I meet a tackle shop boss and he offer me hornet stinger RM2++.. Condition is good.. Worth buying??? Pls advice.. Thanks..

Hooi bro, not bad if the condition is good it’s a good price… just try not to be too harsh on the rod… release the drag of the reel to 1lb or less should be fine… i’ve broken mine just by striking a fish with 2lb drag

Hi Bro TJS.. The shop boss test the rod with me.. Ask me to pump the rod.. Well, it serve well, but he warn me not to bend the tip as well.. If not, piakkkkk!!!.. Hehehehe…
The rod is ok, just dono my gf wanna buy it or not..

rod broken at 2 lb drag u still recommend? LOL
by the way, which rod u have not broken previously? then that’s the rod to buy [:D]
Haha tat’s becos u never see me strike fish before bro
all my gloomis nvr broke before except my fav crankbait series which to me will never break if used properly even a lil violently but unfortunately an a$$hole with itchy finger try to think otherwise. Still now couldnt forget it, i din even get compensated
then shimano have some nice stuff. Graphite USA if u still can find. the rest no comments, i only have tat much monies to get these few rods

hornet stingers around 220-250
bargain for lower if 2nd hand
personally don’t think it’s worth it as its fragile/brittle stinger tip has rep for breaking … honestly, i sure don’t know how to use it
i’ve heard many kakis claim the crossbeat can’t be beat for its value for money performance
to each their own
I used the Hornet Stinger in BSR fighting plabuks without any problems.</font id=“purple”>

a tackle shop owner always tell me this when i ask him for his view on the rod i want to buy, it’s not the rod good or no good, it’s how u use the rod and whether u know how to use.
after a while, i didn’t even bother to ask for his view, LOL

wa ask gf buy kah??? hehehe
Anyway wat knht said is right… it’s depending on what’s ur puspose and style of fishing
tat’s y there’s tonnes of design out there to choose from and it’s our right to choose…
if use correctly which like wat u did in the shop only a defect rod will break… any fish if fight with a gentle curve on the rod n no sudden jerk or hard strike, i dont think a rod will break. As the pressure is just too low!
No matter how a tonne of fish pulling at the end of the line. if u set 6lb fighting force and if the reel is smooth, only 6lb will the rod handle… how to break?

bro TJS, side track a bit, today caught a PB with my 3 days old new conquest 50, woohoo. Weights 2.8lbs on boga scale, gave a good fight to the conquest with 8 lbs line and 4pc Majorcraft sakura rod. Tried various minnows, shad rap, flat rap, fat rap all no bite, until the berkley fish minnow t-tail rubber came out.
surprisingly the stock drag has no jerky issue and very smooth cranking to pull up the fish, guess i am in no hurry to change the carbontex washer that i bought.
tqs guys for the views..i just found out that crossbeat is lighter than verdict…and the reel seat is more comfortable..
but the style/ design wise, verdict is quite awesome..it’s a matter of style or performance now..haha

Bro… performance, comfort n confidence first. Looks and style second.
But the above rules only apply if you’re looking for something to fish, not collection or display purpose hehehe
actually if u ask me i would go for the daiwa out of the two rods u mentioned too altho many would get a shock here since i’m always against daiwa hahahaha…

wah mana lu pegi pancing never invite me one!!! hahahaha
sakura pon ada kah… good leh T-tails! It’s not my favourite plastic for nothing ma bro
Stock drag is good… very smooth. No jerking one lah it’s a shimano. Carbontex actually more jerky theorectically but thus far the system still works wonderfully smooth for me. Carbontex is just for the extra drag power, not for smoothness

Mari, lu bring passport, drive 4.5 hours, i take u go fishing, LOL.
sakura is my favourite 4pc rod, more so than the valleyhill 4pc, but very ex and must veri careful, has a reputation of tip section always broke.
my other daiwa reels all on carbontex drag washer, with thin layer of drag grease, not jerky at all. Maybe u run it dry that’s why it is a bit jerky.
