the former (unfortunately only in red) is available at Ocean Sea for RM120 (4-footer) before 30% discount and RM123 (4.5-footer) nett.
have not seen the latter.
don’t recall seeing such at Kepong Tackle.
unsure if such rods are available elsewhere.
looking at their specs, 5 till 8-footers (2- and multi-pc) are supposedly available. why such lengths? to resemble fly-rods? since their claimed target is trout, in addition to panfish and crappie.
wot say users or UL enthusiasts? alternatives?
any and wot significant difference between the solid core and hollow core … performance-, handling-, response-, etc-wise?
i got the 5’6" version and my buddy has the 6’. old model the red one
alternatively u can get the Majorcraft Troutino or Airlights… u’ll surely love both rods for their finesse application, both in the RM500+ range. for the record, a 9kg pacu was landed with the Airlights. Most importantly can cast your 2-3gm lures far enough to the hotspot.
do lookout for 6’6" to 7" finesse rods as their flexibility can work the lure for u. Maybe other brands like Abu Fantasista, Ternyu might have some finesse rods too.
for me, i find them a bit heavy and too whippy for my liking…not my cup of tea.
am currently happy with a 7’ Abu Rocksweeper 2-5lb for my UL cravings… long, light & snappy… IM9 carbon…good quality components and construction, nice design too. [:D]

not too sure about the availability of the rocksweeper at the moment…i bought 2 yrs ago for RM600++, it reatails for about 25000jpy on the website. casting light lures with 4lb braid can be mindblowing on this rod!

the scimitar is … lower end, also very ‘whippy’ and tip heavy for the UL poundage. yep, the scimitar is def lower end … hope the pricing is like the daiwa [;)] beggars can’t be choosers and i just want an UL set up - that my pocket and i can be comfy with - to complete my arsenal [:I]
i used to like the ryobi regno … when it was widely available and significantly cheaper hmm, worth checking out the ryobis [:D]
wow the rod sweeper sure looks sweet especially the lower poundage UL model, not sure if i seen the UL casting version before seems so hard to find, i wan one!!! lol
Novice angler here, any constructive advices greatly appreciated. Thank you
" i used to like the ryobi regno though, way back when it was widely available and significantly cheaper "
You may want to try SEA Tackle - I got a couple only a few months ago. Not the lightest of my rods by far, but I appreciate the thicker grip because my hands / fingers are no longer as supple as they used to be. In fairness, good value for money rods but not comparable to what you guys are looking at lah ! [:o)]
