@ Dhaka Bangla

Found myself in Dhaka last week. No fishing as it was pure work on a fast track basis. Lots of public ponds around the city but I woudn’t touch it if I was you.

As usual pig out again… enjoy the pics.

Dhaka Skyline

Some local powered transport

At this juncture I would like to add that a majority of their cars are CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) and it costs about USD 1 for a full tank which will last for 100 Km. ..! All this is possible because they have a vast reservoir of natural gas that does not need any refining. Literally out from ground into storage tank.

However though electricity power generation uses these gas as well but the power transmission is so bad or relay trips that there are power outages everyday , some lasting 2-3 hours. Gens sets does a roaring trade here. In fact most building tenants have their own gen sets as most building owners just provide essential power.

Kasturi Restaurant:

Great food … a must visit if you find yourself in Dhaka.

USD 1 : 69 Taka

Tandoori Chicken. Goodness gracious me…

Another chicken dish…

Ilish Fish. Seems that this sea fish return to the river to spawn. A delicacy but loads of tiny bones.

A shrimp based accondiment (?). Its meat was mashed/grinded mixed with herbs and mustard. Great tasting.

My 2nd plate of chicken biriani rice.

Traffic here is a bitch, and I dont mean the jams. That was quite alright as it is over fairly quickly. Its the way they drive here … oh my god. Its every man for himself, hands literally permanent on the horn, and no point having your side mirrors replaced as it gets ripped off. Its worst than Cambodia. All cars has an additional metal bar front & back to protect your bumper as they will always be minor coming together.

You cant have a decent conversation in a car as the horns are always blaring every few seconds , and your eyes ARE always on the road in front as the driving is so entertaining. Many times me and my colleagues will be laughing in the car as we just could not believe the way cars are driven here.

Till my next (food) adventure …

Yummy write up!

Rohu is one of the favourite and most commonly sold fried fishes in Pakistan and Bangladesh. But this one looks a little too thin for rohu. Cant really judge from this angle.
Sualeh

hehehe…sualeh bro, at times KK will pull peoples leg and intimidate them..ehehe…i guess he was jus joking about being a rohu dish. It could be rohu meat but it loots more like a bigger scale carp. When u mention thin, does it mean the diameter of the fish ??

once an angler, always an angler

Yup, Rohus in Pakistan are a little broad bodied, broader than grass carps and mrigal but thinner than common carp and catla. But they mostly look alike when fried [:D][:p]
