DISTANCE CASTING VS SURF FISHING

Hi All,

Years ago when I began surfcasting, no one that I know was into distance casting except Syed.

I was exclusively doing beach fishing at that time although it was only once or twice a month as I live in K.L. and the sea is about 2hrs away to the nearest decent fishing spot…and not to mention the hectic work in the office!

My acquaintances with Syed and the Singaporean casters had me involved in distance casting and in no time I was hooked.

At times when I can’t go surf fishing, the “gian” could easily be quenched by the distance casting practices.Similar to surf fishing, distance casting also requires full indulgence to enjoy the sport.

It is my view that to become a full fledge surfcaster, you have to be competent in both the disciplines and although similar in nature, both have got their percularities i.e. tackles and skills wise!

What do the others think …please?

eh bang…during our next june event, since kita doing both distance & fishing, how bout we do a ‘jackpot’ & see who’s the best distance caster & surf fisho, we average out the result of both event. We use the jackpot collection to offset my cost for a Century Carbon Metal 17’ or 14’, the balance goes to the runner up, etc. etc. amacam?

except to broke my/Malaysian/PeMM 220.60 metre, officialy recorded cast…
