Electric reel user's guide

Hi fellowmembers, I have been to fish off Sabah waters last June and where we went have depths of 200m or more. I was armed with a diawa saltist reel with 50lb line and weight of 300g or more. Retrieving it and with fish was indeed laborious! and damaging to the wrist tendons, and arm/back muscles. We have another trip planned for this June, and with that in mind, I have purchased a Daiwa Powerful Tanacom GS80 electric reel from Japan through eBay. The catch is, it has a user’s guide in the Japanese language. If you do have the user’s guide in English for this reel, please let me know through the forum. I’ll be glad to contact you. Thank you all[:)]

Hi henghin,

First of all i like to congrats u on being HOOK on fishing hahahah, the electric reel that u buy from japan does it has an authorise dealer in Malaysia? What happen if your reel encounter problem? Any electric reel will perform as per spec stated and most important is take good care of it…For ur user guide theres a bit problem… hopefully there’s a member in MFN who has the english version.

For the 50lb n 300gm weight least u have the feel the trill of fishing…hahahahha me too have already change to using electric reel.

Good luck on finding ur guide.

Hi Foo,
Optimism is the forte of every angler! Likewise I hope that the electric reel I just bought will serve me well, at least for a few occasions to the deep seas. There’s a Taiwanese co. who came over to demo how to service a specific type of e. reel to a group of dealers. Read it from R&L.
To my knowledge, seas around peninsular Malaysia isn’t deep. Near Pulau Jarak has 100m or slightly more. A electric reel does help here.
Happy fishing with your electric reel!
