Any one planning another trip to FV..Been some time since i’ve fished back in FV…Last trip was a 15kg pacu..But i wanna kena poison by mekong..it still eludes me..

Hahahaa, brother the Mekong in the big pond eludes most people… you have to wait in line behind Apek Cina, JC, Cloud, Jason and many others!!! 4 years counting and 1,200 different bait concoctions later…

Many have claimed hooking up but not many can claim landed. But if you do your dues and work hard like TJS… then 2-3 Mekong a year on lure is a possibility [:D][:D][:D]

~ Ironically, I don’t like to eat fish, so it’s automatic CnR. ~
~ Fished for the first time in September 2008. Got hooked that same time ~

Ya it was disappointments ever since they move the fishes to the big pond. For me I have save all the money from going FV to go Bungsanram instead…or HadYai…

Anybody going? want to plan a group trip?

I dont mind having a trip to FV.Maybe with more experienced people as u guys might land mekong..If its fate then its fated to happen.i’ve got a certain bait that might work.Found out from bkk guy john thru fb..It worked,managed to hook a mekong bt never successfully landed it.But i tink it might work.Plus the workers there said that the mekongs dnt go so center of the pond.I myself have seen one by the side of the banks of the pond..

Rahul Bro,

Ur observation is similar to mine, twice I had hooked up which I cast just between 5 to 20 meters from banks. The challenge lies with the findings of “consistent” baits that can enticed the Mekong each session we fish there. Hopefully your baits works for each & every time you are there.

both time i landed the pla buk also took the lure quite near to the bank only, not to mention 2-3 times that spooled, snapped, broken… all also near near only

throw far mostly for consistent pacu catch

I only have 13 years of fishing experience, so must beri tunjuk ajar!

Jikey Bro, the best location for Pacu is cast towards the middle and bigger rohu have been landed before. Nowdays seems like fish population is reducing.. end up in wok..

Bro, from my past observation & experience (not the latest), earthworms, buah keras, ikan kembung or ikan selar slice, dedak/hong and gardenia bread. Pacu also quite selective about its own menu. Today effective does not mean daily it is effective.
