Fishing at Pulau Melaka (Bridge)

Quite new in saltwater fishing..

Went with my brother on Saturday around 9pm-1am.. 1st time fish on this bridge..

Bought prawns(L size) from Tesco @ rm13.99/kg. Cut prawn into 3pieces. about 2-3cm each.

hook size 4(quite small) x 2,

4hours of fishing “ais krim”(gets nothing)..

by the way, is it possible for me to use artificial baits (lure) with my spinning reel??

Rod : Relix 16-30lbs 6ft ???
Reel : Tomman TG 1000
Line : 30lbs Braided ???
Best fish : 1.2kg Haruan/Snakehead, 5kg Pacu, 800g Ketutu/SoonHock, 4.3kg Patin, Tongsan 7.25kg, Rohu 2.65kg, Talapia 1kg, Ikan Keli 900g.
Experience : 3+ months..

Hi askm3,

Why dont u try a fresh bait like ‘udang gantung’. U can get it from fish monger at Kpg Limbungan for RM5/longgok. It is a must bait for shore angler like me in Melaka. Never spoiled me coz it very fresh without added any ice. Join me for surf angling for this weekend. Maybe I’ll point to Pantai Puteri on Saturday afternoon.

Guys in Melaka,

Off the topic, on 30th Nov 2009, I went to Melaka for a kenduri. In the afternoon go fishing at Pantai Putri, suprising the seabed was full of rubbish especially plastic bag. Caught a few of it and lastly sangkut, broke my line and then go home. Very sad not because broke the line but the seabed was polluted with alien.

Yup its true bro. I also got the same scenario. Got a few nible n then I strike…a few kilo of water in a plastic bag. Jadi bangau la…[:(]
