my third time wetting my lines in the UK. first two trips “kumpau”. tried fishing last nite at a different spot. produced some slimy fishes. small, but nevertheless a good start.
walked down to the harbour around 5.00pm, reached around 5.30pm just as the sun was setting. Some photos to share.
on the way to the harbour, this was where i fished.
walked pass the marina.
this is the harbour, aka the stone jetty.
my fren was already there.
the two out of three fishes that i caught. i think it’s a rockling.
fished until around 9pm, packed up as it was freezing. had to walk back up the hill which takes around 40 mins.
setup: shakespeare 7 footer casting set with matching reel. got it for 15 pounds.
bait: lugworms.
fishes caught: 3 small sized rocklings. (all CnR)
I only think about fishing on 3 days: yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Your photo’s bring back fantastic memories for me! Places I fished when I was younger. The “marina” has come a long way since I was there.

Vincent.
More than welcome. The restaurant is called Izzy’s. Mezzanine floor Northpoint Mid Valley. Not the shopping centre, the apartment office block next door. Can park in Mid valley and walk across the bridge, or park in the building itself. Lunch is usually busy so if you want some quiet come for dinner or happy hour.
Good Fishing and Good Food Bring Good People Together
The fish in the picture looks abit fake dont you thing?? Follow the link to The Sun (UK) website, they are really making the snakehead look like the devil fish!! They claim it can “kill people” hahahaha.. “worst then piranha” hahaha.. ridiculous!
I think those journalist doesn’t go fishing! I wonder how we can trust the things we read in the news papers these days! NO FACTS at all.. I guess the The Sun (UK) is just a cheap tabloid!!
Unfortunately, whilst the newspapers do sensationalize to sell copy (Fisherman bitten by Piranha in Pahang springs to mind), the presence of Channa Striata (Haruan) in a pond in Lincolnshire is confirmed.
The local authorities feel it is an isolated release and not a breeding population, but the fish was alive, healthy and feeding in water temperatures way below it’s supposed tolerence level. These fish are amazingly resiliant and adaptable.
Invasive alien species are not just a Malaysian problem.
