Just wondering, anyone in this forum from Negeri Sembilan, specifically, around Seremban? I’m looking for kakis to join up with on weekends.
Currently the only place I know & hang out at is, Abrimas Paypond at Kg. Kuala Sawah on the way to Rantau. Been there 3 times but have not been successful to hook up anything. The owner doesn’t seem to be maintaining the place well & have not re-stock fish at the main pond for some time.
Anyone care to comment or offer ideas on where to do fishing? I’m open to Saltwater fishing around Port Dickson but am more keen on Freshwater fishing as I know Negeri Sembilan has many hidden ‘lubuk’ which has not been explored yet.
Also, I’ve tried to gain entry into Empangan Talang but the place has been cordoned off & the only way to get into the massive hydroelectric damm lake is via the thick jungle around the lake.

The key is finding out from the Orang Asli or the village people there. Either bribing the damm guard or paying some fees to the Orang Asli to guide us in. The jungle surrounding the lake is virgin jungle, the REAL DEAL Rough & very very tough!
theres a way to the dam through the kampung. haven’t had problems with the the guard until recently. they don’t allow land base fishing inside the dam anymore. the only other way is to rent a boat. the place is covered with nets nowadays n the fishing there is getting poorer n poorer until me n my friends banned that place.

talking about abrimas pond…about two months ago i went there to do fly fishing experiment, the owner allowed me and another angler to fish at his patin breeding pond, however i didn’t catch anything but nearly hooked up a patin using bread imitation fly and of course burley with bread. the other fellow angler caught about 5 patins weigh approximately 1kg each. but the main pond is too big, i think we need to fish from boat to increase catch rate.i did try lure fishing but there was no chase let alone hook ups.
here in p.d got so many lombong, and i like to do fishing experiment at new places. today afternoon i fished using propeller frog at a small crystal clear pond in lukut and saw two juvenile toman chasing(can be haruan; but they got stripe along their body),i quickly reeled; didn’t intend to hook them to avoid injury but i believe this small pond is connected to another big pond which i dont know how to get close to.hmmmm…usually i spend just 1- 2 hours for fishing on weekends or 1/2hour after working
this weekend come to pd la bro hennesy, but i can’t promise i’ll be around due to family commitment, but i’ll try to curi2 sometime in the evening for fishing
Camping in the jungle seems like a fun thing. I’ve not been camping in jungle since Outward Bound School & Scouting days…would be an exciting & adventurous trip if can hook up with some fellow adventurers.
also heard rumours that there was peacock bass pond somewhere in kuala sawah rantau. i think i’ve identified the pond but don’t have buddies to accompany to reccee the area.recent visit i noticed a JCB doing some earthworks. i’m afraid that area is threatened by curi pasir or development

That is a sad news indeed. I believe too many people ‘meat hunters’ harvest fish there until the fish stock is severely depleted. The blog article did mention poor hook up rate.
Any chance we can hook up on weekends for fishing around or near Sban?
I go K.Pilah quite often, almost every weekend. And I have only 1 day fishing, Saturday. Sometimes I go to pay pond in Terachi or friends pond to fish. Other than that, I have no idea. Still thinking on how to get in Empangan Talang by the front gate
