Fishing in Port Klang-Pulau Angsa Snapper

Visited Pulau Angsa with my Cyprus fishing buddy, Nakis and Ah Siang from Kulim, and Wan on Sat(22/12/07) and we was presented with our early X-Mas gift, a 2.6kgs Port Klang red snapper, some Ell Tail Catfish(semilang) and lots gelamas(nakis was dubed the Gelama King of Cyprus)…[:D]

This Joker trademark again with Pulau Angsa as the back ground…[:D]

We was visited by a friendly Trawler boat, they are so friendly the wave at us as they are putting their nets in front of us while we are fishing…[:D]

We hack care the nets, we continue fishing and was rewarded with some Red Snapper…[:D]

Than my ever faithful Calcutta 400 goes into action…[:D]

…and managed to haul up a 2.6kgs angcho…[:D]

Kurauking,
that is a very good catch!! I have been fishing near pulau angsa but only caught small gelamas and mercedese! My relative are in Sasaran and we chartered boat from there, but I was very dissappointed with the catch rate. the poor catch was blamed on those trawlers, but I guess you have super power to bring the fish in even with trawlers working next to your boat hehehehe [:D] Well done. What bait you use ar?

Briank, next time you go there look for spot with semilang/gemang. Coz normally spot with semilang is good spot for biggies, just wait at yr spot if you get those semilang/gemang…[:D]

Another thing is neva brings umpun or small prawn to waste yr time on those small gelamas, my usual bait there is sutong kurita/octupus the size of a knuckle and live prawn the size of my thumb…[:D]

Kampung Perempat laa, i was there not long ago with Tony Wee doing some flyfishing. We was happily fishing there until someone on a motorbike came and tell us that we gotta pay Rm10.00 per hour to fish at that watergate…[:D]

just wonder wat kind of bait u always use…

You can try live octopus aka sotong kurita and live prawn, if you are going for the gelamas or serewak(gelama 3 gigi), you can try mullet/belanak fillet or kembung fillet and squid fillet cut into small pcs…[:D]

is it true that sotong kurita cause around rm8-rm10 depend on size???
any1 know where i can get live prawn for minimum price(klang or kuala selangor area)…i mean around 50 cent for 1 prawn…my bootman ask me for rm1.00 for 1 live prawn…

You are right, a sotong kurita will cost bout Rm5-Rm10 depending on its size. You can go to Tanjung Harapan at Port Klang to get both, live prawn and the sotong kurita. Live prawn will cost bout Rm0.50 to Rm0.10 depending on size too…[:D]
