Fishing in Thailand -near Ratchaburi

I was in Thailand a few weeks ago and my friends took me to a fishing pond for some fun. Not bad fishing (caught about 10 plabuk in about 3 hours. Cost was 20baht per rod.

Fighting something decent

A nice plabuk

Nice scenery too

Hahahahahah…remember…oldman…soft rod…big fish…small pictures…
Flicker…you looked great…nice catch too…

Thomas,
everytime I go to photobucket they cahnge their format. confuses me. Will have a look at their formating next time I go in. [:I][:I]

Haha you recognise the Nitro rod! I am very happy with them as they do cater to most situations. I also bought the new Viper multipiece which is rate at 8kg while the older 007 magnum butt is rated at 6kg.[:0][:0]

I have yet to use the two new Thomas stroker multi piece rods yet. they look fabulous and I can’t wait to try them. I also made a multipiece sleeve for each part to keep them from getting scratched.[:D][:D][:D]

Also made a rod tube for them - with high density foam on both ends and a scew top. [;)]

I hope to catch a big auckland snapper or kahawai on them - hipefully later this month.

Pelanduk,
Thanks for the compliment. seems like the the young girls are saying the same [}:)][}:)]

Ben, you should try the photobucket
bulk loader, at the bottom there is
a small cloumn [image option]
click on it, choose the size 320x240
and save prior to uploading your
pictures.

Good to hear you made the sleeves to
protect the ts multi pc rod.

Thomas,
not plabuk? what’s the difference?
They do put up a good fight on 6kg tackle.

Size to size, the plabuk is a better
fighter because of the thicker shoulder
and bigger v tail than the patin.

Tommy - I have also often wondered about how to tell the difference - the Pla Buk is simply a Patin on steroids ?

TJS,
you are right. Lots of fishes look very similar and if one is not used to them they can be mixed up. In Australia:
Mulloway is very similar to Black Jewfish
Kingfish, Amberjack and Samson look similar
Bay trout (baby aussie salmon or kahawai) looks like tommy ruff.
Our Saratoga and your Arowana
I am sure there are lots more. Really need to know what you are looking for to distinguish them.
Good thing is they all eat worms and bend our rods! hehehe

Hey Ben,
Nice pics and catches!
Those patin are real nice on the table…

… still thinking of fishing in Sydney or Auckland for the kingies… sigh
even Melbourne as well…
One thing’s for sure, Abrolhos is ON in 2012…!
