Hi Nelson,

you got to call the number to check the availability.
The boat is a right boat for fishing at that area measured some 65ft+ length 18 ft+ width, approximately.
No idea bout fishing in Sabah in month of Sep… maybe those from Kota Kinabalu can give some clues.
Good Luck!

Me and my freinds are waiting for a nice trip and MAMA GT

Nelson,

I guess I have to tell you fishing charters work in Malaysia by trip bookings. If you pop up in front of the charter owner 1 month (or 3 months for some charters) before the day you wanna go fishing and ask him to takeup the booking, very likely you will be told the date is already booked by someone else.

It will be wise for you to get the available date from the charter and pay some booking fee then you move all the way from abroad to Malaysia to have a well-planned fishing trip.

Pulau Jarak located at approximately 50 nm from shore and fishing charters making trips to Jarak are available at towns like Sg. Besar, Bagan Datoh, Hutan Melintang, Lumut and Sitiwan. Most of the charters are doing mostly bottom fishing and there are only 2 or 3 chartes doing jigging (drift jigging).

All the towns mentioned above are located at some 200++ km from Kuala Lumpur and you need traveling time of some 3hrs from KLIA to reach these places. KLIA shall be the airport you should plan your flight touching down in Malaysia.

Alternately, you can try Tukun Perak for GT. Please refer here for catch report in Chinese:-

Skipper Ah Sia, handy no. +6019 456 4246. The touch down airport to Malaysia for Tukun Perak shall be Penang.

Happy Fishing!!

Hi Bro..Welcome to this forum…[:D]
In Sabah there are a few chater boats but it is available or not I’m not sure, maybe you can contact our hardcore guy “Bwan” by email..

The cost is about RM3000 to RM5000 including ice, food, tea or tongkat ali cafe (not Capucino[:)]), Aircond cabin, toilet, suitable for Bottom ang Jigging but I’m not suggesting fly fishing

The target areas is about 100 to 120 km to the west of Kota Kinabalu what they called Dolphin Bank or Sarjali. The depth of this area is about 100 to 130 m. The common fish is groupa, Kingfish, small tunas, GTs etc

The fishing port just around the town, and a few star hotel around, and some of the boat owner is provided packaging with a little extra charges.

The bait is a small fish where can be bought at the fish market just 100m from the port and very fresh..there is no live bait but I’m always cathing a small fish and hook it back for the Mackerel and Barra..

So enjoy fishing!!! Maybe your friends is lucky to have a trip around here…heehehe

Curiosity killed the fish…sunoh..eh tenggiri la pulak
