Flyfishing Greats

I’m interested in the who’s who in fly fishing world. Care to share some? Who, why he’s a great or legend etc etc.

I’m looking at Ken Abrames http://www.stripermoon.com/
What’s said about Ken: Rhode Island fisherman, fly tyer, author, and artist extraordinaire. If you like the introspective, you’ll love Ken’s work.

Siapa lagi?

Try John Gierach.. fly fishing author. Love his book title “Another Lousy Day In Paradise”. Other title; “Trout Bum” & many others…

Fishing For Sport, Not For Food.

Thanks BigBait.

We got any in Malaysia or not? Nick Ooi kira tak? Heh heh, maybe Nick will have to start authorig some books or setup a website like stripermoon that specifically cater to our local species and the flies & techniques.

Imagine huge 10-12 saltwater gear accounts of 10kg Tomans, line stripping 3kg badungs on fly. If only we can have a local pioneeer to promote and advance this. Mat Salleh trout can stand aside.

hmm.. I once read about C.S Fong’s work on fishing, he curently holds the world record for Toman (Channa micropeltes). However, he caught the world record with spinning reel. From his articles and publishing work, he can be our potential Malaysia fly fishing idol.

Correction to my earlier statement:
The world record for Toman (channa micropeltes) is not Mr C.S Fong it is Mr S.G Tan. Apologies.

I enjoy reading sg tan’s acticle, great writer n fishor.
