why it is so hard to find ff equipment here?[V]
im a kuchingite and luckily i able to own 1 set of fly tackle..a cincai one..
rod #7-8, reel #5 and #5-6 floating line[xx(]…all purchased in different tackle shop..
i tied my flies using alternative material, i.e. local birds feathers, eletrical wire to make nymph head, carpet wool as dubbing etc…
are there any tackle shops in kuching selling ff gear apart from rod and reel?
i need to buy another fly line, a vise and other fly tying material..
as a beginner,i dont wanna givin up on my new found passion in ff juz because no materials and gears availabe…it also impossible for me to purchase online since im still studying and money is scarce..[xx(]
thanks in advance for ur kind suggestions and thoughts…[:D]

i know about your shop for several years now and i absolutely dont wanna miss the chance to visit your shop…
but in this moment,i really wanna search for tackle shop in Kuching selling FF equipment..
btw Dr.No,is there any Kuching tackle shop bringing in FF equipment from ur shop and sell it here?
yeahh…
finally I got myself a brand new vise…a cheap one only..[:D][:D]
my sis bought it from TackleBox last few weeks..
unfortunately, she forgot to bring it back to Kuching..sigh…[xx(][xx(]
Buk,
those flyfishos in Miri still active eventho their situation just as same as ours.
they juz improvise anything and turn scrap into FF tools…really respect them for that..[^][^]
no hackles?cabut jak dari bulu manok..hehe…[:D][:D]
ya lah…only TCE selling fly lines in Kuching..no option, juz gotta use one..[xx(][xx(]
I’ve asked several tackle shops in kuching bout fly line and only get 1 answer..“no one use fly la..cannot sell..tada untung” together with a cynical stare/smile…

hmm..sorry to say dat i cant make it..
so sorry bro..
if u wanna buy FF gear,no use to ask the employees..they know nuts..
they even ask me how to tie the line to the reel..haha…[xx(][xx(]
Last time we experiencing the same situation here in Miri, after a while we have positive response from the tackle shops. Only a few selling fly rods and reels. And for the fly line we need to order. At the moment we get at least 80% of our fly equipments(lines, fly materials etc) from Dr. No of Tacklebox…looking forward to ‘fly’ together in Kuching…

kudos to Miri flyfishers and to u bro NF…
in Kuching, there’s not many places ideal for flyfishing…
fishin on boat, yes u can try…but land based?I dunno wut to say..
mayB bro Terubuk or bro Kitang kept several hot spots under their sleeves..[:D][:D][:D]
as for me,I fish in the jungle stream at my kampung and successfully kumpau everytime…[^][^]..cant say its an ideal spot, but more to my training ground..[|)]
ahh..finally i’ve found one tackle shop here in Kuching selling fly rods other than TCE…[:p][:p]
during my last visit,the shop selling 1 Scierra #5-6 and Lemax #6-7,#7-8 & #8-9…
plus, they also selling flyline from Fenwick as well as fly reels (a bit sad in quality & brand department[xx(][xx(])..
the tackleshop located in 10th Mile..SLC Tackle…
I’m a lazy bum so I get my stuff online from e-bay. Fly rods, spey rods, fly reels, shooting heads, large spools of dacron, fly tying materials, hooks and even some flies…
unfortunately,i don’t know how to purchase online..[xx(][xx(][xx(]
as i said earlier, money is a bit difficult right now since i’m just finished my study..
so,its a slow start for me in FF but i’m cool…[8D][8D]
to me,better start slowly and start from scratch rather than had a lead at the starting line but in the end, throwing white flag juz before the finishing line..
guys,i wanna ask for ur opinion..
last week i went to a tackle shop near my place and the shop selling one set of EUPRO graphite flyrod wt6 for rm176 something..[:0][:0]
is it worth the money?
thanks for the info bro harwan…
as for the fly tying materials, its not too much of a problem for me coz everything around us is actually fly material..[:D][:D][:D]
for the Eupro rod,im not interested with it anymore..even the guides are not snake guides..[xx(][xx(] i prefer rod with traditional snake guide..
one more thing,i surveyed a Tica fly reel (model T107 or S107 or T701 or S701..cant remember..heheh..) with a price tag of RM212 and discounted price is RM190…im pretty interested with it..any testimonial from owner/user of such reel?
rod?oh ya..i’ve abandoned the idea of buying myself nice rod for a while..time & financial constraint…[xx(][xx(]
seems so hard to steal myself a lil bit of time for fishing since i’ve started working..hmmm..i started to think dat it is better to menganggur..more time to fish..hahahaha…[:p][:p][:p]
ahh…kekabu…but its depend on the season rite?for me,the best dubbing material currently is the cotton wool from carpet..i’m using the green carpet wool to tie a scud-like-fly-since-i-dont-know-the-pattern-name and its proven effective for pacu..
p/s: i got my bobbin already..my sis bought it from tacklebox..i heard she said Dr.NO had to come down to the shop just for negotiating the price..hahaha…anyway,thanks Dr.NO![;)]
