I find that the best people to ask about baits would be the locals! Every prawning environment has its own bait. In some places that I have been to, I have used longkang fish, aquarium shrimps, perumpun, earthworms and even slices of kembong!

Next time choose a day with slower current, Nov 11 is the 2nd day of the Chinese calender = fast current. To overcome fast current, you would have had to use a heavier weight. Heavier weight is not so sensitive to detect the gentler nibbling of the udang.
