Fuji Hook Keeper

Hi all,

Anyone know where I can find a Fuji Hook Keeper locally? Its just a plastic thingy which is attached to the rod above the rod handle using rubber bands. The hook / lure can then be held safely, instead of using the guides. I need 2 of them … thanks n advance.

sabre have them

i have one red and one blue fuji ones hardly use cos the rubber tat hold the keeper always melt away so not very reliable for me, gave up using them already haha

btw i also found some cheap imitation ones in sea tackle PJ, much cheaper

hope this helps…

Many thanks TJS. Will try Sea Tackle first… Am not worried about the rubber band as I intend to use 2 of them hook keepers as line holders on my Tenkara rods. When the rubbers fail, I will just tie them on the rod with thread. Tks again.

haha i don’t know how to tie it with thread especially the epoxy part, but will be great if u can show us after you done it bro

welcome btw

and if u gonna thread it on rods why not just get those cheap hookeeper n thread it up with ur fav rod builder, i’m sure they have more than enough n varied stock with them

Hi Tonywee,
Quite difficult to catch you with the right topic.
Where do you usually go for your Tenkara fishing and what are your targeted fish? Any interest for up stream Tenkara Kelah/Tengas fishing?

Hi Maguro,
I do some estuary fishing using Tenkara off the jetty where I stay. Its fun catching Archer fish and mudskippers using dries and ant flies. The big mudskippers are pretty aggro and not at all line shy.

And yes, its quite deadly for small Tengas and Sikangs in the hill streams, like those around Bentong, Batu Dam, Ulu langat, Semenyih ..etc…using nymphs and dries… a little like czech nymphing.

Its fun and so easy to start Tenkara style flyfishing here, and dirt cheap too … just convert a telescopic prawn rod into a Tenkara rod, add a fluoro carbon level line, a tippet and a fly and off you go.:-). Which are the streams you go to? .. rgds.

Hi TJS,

Just go to this link in Youtube and see what I want to do. It a simple and very good Tenkara line management system.

The rubber for EZKeepers are just o-ring, you can get them at shops that sells o-rings for machinary, hydralic pumps etc. They are 50-90cents (depending on what grade you want) to replace.

Hi Tonywee,
During my usual Sungai Tembeling up river fishing, will bring along my Tenkara rod which usually catch more fish than our normal reeled rod, fact wise nowadays.
In Japan, those fillet from fish caught during Tenkara fishing are said to be the best for “Tempura”. I find it true locally during our up river camping/fishing trip.
Sorry for those C&R kaki, I have to eat fish to survive during those camping trip. hehehe

There is an up stream river in Gua Musang said to have Kelah of 8" to a foot in crystal clear water (angler’s information) maybe good to try out Tenkara fly fishing.

aha tenkara fishing… tot it’s just normal spinning rod, sorry for giving pointless opinion lol

so far how good was tenkara fishing guys??? use to do tat all the time, albeit using live bait when i just started fishing., they works… but it’s been such a long long time since i last touch my prawning stick lol now it start bringing memories. but those prawning stick really make fighting a fish no matter how small felt like a monster hahahaha
