A new member here. Just a question. Can anyone share a haruan spot near kepong / damansara area? Thanks for the kind info.
In my opinion the nearest spot would be the pond about two hundred feet away from the desa aman seafishing pay pond ( Rose garden ) .the haruan are active only after the rain or into the dusk. Next is that garden pond at Bandar Menjalara park but only open for fishing once during competition. In the evening time you could see a lot of juvenvile up to i kati haruan lazing on the surface of the water. Tilapia and japanese carp abound here too with other ornamental fishes too.Beside these is the Kepong metropolitian Park. where in the evening there are hundred of fishing kakis having a good time there. There was this Kota Damansara natural pond where haraun is overfished.. for my record I had not caught any sizable haraun there..sebarau and toman are more active there..
Kenchen, gt any other Haruan places… I havent caught a haruan b4, and Im eager to try it out… Can you list some productive free lakes/paypond where a newbie can catch a haruan pls, Tq
heh heh…where got productive and free haruan spots wan? These two description does not go hand in hand ler…But kepong metropoiliton is a good bet…my fren arapaima nearly landed a handsome fella on soft plastic. The lake in Bandar Menjalara is superb. I have seen the mama toman i think est.4kg.

Bro Tortoise power , its the same row as the Pay pond . Did you see the Summer Auto Transmission ( SAT ) and the rose Garden.. take a recce there.
thanks bro…may just go for a recce. I only know of the saltwater paypond (which btw is quite productive) and also the restaurant that serves really good tilapia…ever been there? 2 styles only, steamed or fried. During lunch time, lotsa ppl there.

Ah soon restaurant. just went the other day. but a bit pricey, think so? The other tilapia restaurant that I can think off is the one in rawang, at the beginning of the rawang - templer’s park trunk road. yum yum. sorry off topic.

Bro Tortoise Power, in Rawang is it Lan Cheh Restaurant.. In between Sri Samudra and Sentul ( new access road ) there is a restaurant tucked inside a medium class residential area .. It’s something different, they used salt to apply on the unskinned Tilapia and tin foiled and steam it ( called Snow mountain flying fox ).When served the waiter will discard the salt and scale away. You can really taste the freshness of the fish.. though the price is relatively higher if you compare with Ah Soon or Lan Cheh . Nowaday the official price for Tilapia is Rm10 as compare to the previous price of Rm 7.( Sorry Bro Clay people for infringing your space.)
Another area should be along the MRR2 route , after the Petronas and Shell petrol kiosk( directly opposite Metropolitan Kepong Park ), that big pond previously covered by hyacinth was cleared recently saw people fishing for haruan there. The juvenile haruan usually follows the hyacinth for small baitfishes.There another clear pond in Bkt Idaman( Condominium )along the side of the Selayang Police Station. after the guard house toward the left hand side , the haraun here usually hide among the fallen tree trunk . Then on the way before FRI traffic light there is another yellowish pond by the side of the road.You can see the Big Colourland Sign Post as a reference. Those haruan here are really smart,

Sifu Maguro, that Rose garden pond look very tempting .. but that part of their rose garden look unkempt for some time.Other side of their rose garden look alright.
