It’s been a while since i last log on MFN. How is everyone doing?Heard that MSC is planning a tourney this Dec. If yes then has the date been confirm? Reason i’m asking is to let the guys here know so they can apply leave in advance. It is also good as we can estimate the number of participants.

Hope it’s not too much to asked for but can you find a suitable casting ground to organise this event. We can use the participating fees to pay for the field. No prizes, no medals…no problem. Just want to have our usual gathering among fellow casters. And also a good getaway from Sillypore for a while.

Just a suggestion…maybe we can request from Dato Tan Sri Onn and Dato Tan Sri Aznaff to sponsor some of their overstock surf rods…hahaha

Sorry couldn’t respond any sooner, I actually underwent an operation lah the Monday before Deepavali. Now recuperating at home but everything is fine.
Anyway, I will discuss the matter seriously with Edi and Onn this Saturday at his long awaited open hse for surfcaster and let you all know soonest.
In view of the time constraint, I anticipate that this time around would not be too elaborate of a tourney and if you all don’t mind something simple. I believe the spirit is for us to get together and have fun, right?
The champion will still be honoured accordingly lah!! As for the prizes, Tan Sri Onn and I will try to figure out something, I guess.

Sorry to hear about your plight. Hope you have a speedy recovery.
I’m sure the guys are more interested to have their annual casting competition and get together. Definately not for the prizes. Don’t think anyone would mind a simple affair as long as there’s a field with proper markings.
Judging from the current response, i estimate between 10 to 20 casters from my end.

Hi physlo,
Really glad to hear you guys are still in high spirits on sport casting. Tan Sri Onn, Dato’ Sri Edi and I are trying hard to keep the spirit burning down here.
Sad that many of our senior casters are shying away, but life must go on and we hope to see new and better casters to join the sport with the recent effort by Edi organising the Novice tourney.
We will update you more later.

That’s the way it goes…quite norm seeing casters come, casters go. But not to worry, there’s always new blood joining. Hope you guys are able to book a field and confirm a date soon. Good luck.

I had a lengthy discussion with Onn and Edi on the matter and we have collectively agreed to organise the tourney as per MSC’s yearly ritual.
To facilitate all keen casters’ preparation towards the tourney, we have tentatively scheduled the tourney on 27-12-2008 (Saturday).
The entrance fee (won’t be much this time!), venue and format of the tourney will be communicated to all of you soon, so keep close to the forum.
As usual again, I’ll be glad to host some makan2 for you guys at my house prior to the tourney if time permits.
