Hello Malaysia

Hello chaps,

Great forum you have here, I enjoy the pictures and reports posted here. I have also follow Dron Fly’s flytying journal, if I may called it, its great stuff! I am currently residing in Singapore till the end of my contract and will move to KL for my attachment at the KLIA. It a bit dry here in Singapore not much of a place to flyfish, local authorities are a bit of a pain in the behind. Sometime I wished I am back home in Suffolk, East Anglia.

Been told by the chaps at Coho in Singapore that there is a flyshop in KL where you chaps hang around. Hope to meet you there soon once I find my way around. By the way is it safe to ride a motorbike around KL and to KLIA for daily commuting?

So long old chaps.

J Brown

Welcome Mr Brown (sounds like a line from Mind Your Language sitcom [:)])
I’m sure you will enjoy your stay here.
There is a train running from KL to KLIA and you may want to consider this as an alternative?

Welcome to MFN…Mr Brown… thanks for the support…

Yap… we normally hang around the flyshop in Subang call Tackle Box on Saturday noon… and if you are coming up to KL…do join us for a cup of teh tarik…

Mr. Brown,

There are a few members who works at KLIA and LCCT within MFN. Oh yes, you wouldn’t be lonely. And please don’t get yourself transferred to Penang International Airport to work because you may end up fishing more than you work with the MFN fellas up there.

Mr Brown,

Riding a motorbike for the first time in KL requires some great courage and patience due to nasty attitude and horrendously bad driving habits of many motorists here, so you will take sometime to adjust.Big machines are safer. Most duck and dive with their mopeds like they have a second life. Chalk and cheese from where you come from, unfortunately. But after some time you may well be one of them. Hehehehe</font id=“maroon”>

Welcome Br Brown!

My advise on transportation… Get a car instead!

Welcome Mr Brown. Hopefully you can share some of your experience fly fishing in Suffolk with us. As far as biking is concern, i bought a 250cc X8 scooter three months ago to commute to work which is about 3km from my house here in KL. My first experience was freeking nightmare as the cars and lorries and buses didnt give me room at all and love to harass the bikers. It was more fun on highway though and less dangerous. Now i only use it during weekends when the weather is good.

My advice is get a big bike, preferably armed with missiles and oil slick so the big boys can get off your back!
