Hi C. Way,
Welcome to MFN especially the Haruan Discussion.
If you can’t use overhead cast you can use underhand cast the usual Bujuk known casting methods. You can try using live frog or live bait fish as bait. All the best.

Hi C. Way,
[:D]

MAYBE…[:)]
I think what Mr.Maguro meant is “Overhead Cast” is by waving your rods and arms together up above your head when casting the bait.while the “Underhand Cast” or “Side Cast” is to wave your rod and arms on your side.

Hi C. Way, Bro Namot,
Underhand cast and side cast are different.
a) Underhand cast, lower the rod tip toward the ground and you raise and fling the bait outward. This casting are for situation where you have vegetation and obstacles around you.
b) Side cast, you bring your rod tip to your left/right side horizontal to the ground and swing your rod to your front.

If the casting spot, you have vegetation all around you and you have only window space in front of you, try these two ways of casting:
c) Vertical cast, dangle you bait few inches from the rod tip, lower your rod with left hand straighten holding your lower handle and right hand holding the upper handle, give a sharp outward tilt and flick out the bait.
d) Swing cast, dangle you bait to about half you rod length, point your rod at 2 o’clock position in front of you, swing the dangling bait toward you as it swings back to the front follow the swing momentum and fling the bait out.
It is difficult for beginner to get a good distance for these casts. You need practices to make it perfect and gain control. Try it out and happy fishing.

icic, complicated, definitely takes long time for a beginner like me to learn how to do those trick
