Aji Aznaff, me no President la, just a humble current no.3 only, Package Organizer and also can consider la Coach to few small tourney Champions hehehe…

I come to understand some of the Surf Casters will not be participating in 2007 PeMM Comm selection.

So best if we can have feedback from PeMM Committee, what are their plan for 2007, should there will be or otherwise.

Dear distance casters,(to whom this topic concerns)
This is a sport that we have participated for a long time. We have an obligation to it’s progress. It’s future survival rest’s on our shoulders, as lovers of distance casting, we would be committing a sin(forgive the use of this strong caution)if we allow the sport to disintegrate.
PeMM has always officiated/oversee/sanctioned our ‘Distance casting tournament’ since day one. I’m sure PeMM will never forsake us, as long as we do our part and give PeMM the support that it needs.
While writing this, I am reminded of Awie’s(Bro Onn’s student) hardwork and passion, riding his bike with casting rod resting on his shoulder. Traveling from jinjang to bukit mahkota for training. All us seasoned senior distance casters owe it to future “Awies” of distance casting, to preserve the sport…(to be continued)

Remember Zubairi from Perak, simply phenomenal improvement. Last but not least Leadhunter Malaysia no.1 the 200m man. I’m really amazed by our achievement in distance casting. Our Singaporean counterpart has pledged their support. We are on the map, Jersey(Keith White) knows malaysia now. Anyway we should continue at least until abang Aznaff gets into the top three. (Bro Onn , what say you, can or not)

It have been a week and none of the PeMM Committee nor it President put any comment on this subject. I think we can conclude that they are not interested.

As I can remember participating in PeMM Distance Tourney, the best were the 1st and 2nd tournament, after that thing were done in rushing manner like last minute confirmation on the venue, Duit not enough, Prize tak tentu.

So what next guys?

There is no need for speculations. Just wait till the next PeMM committee comes into office. If the new committee do indeed think a Distance casting competition for 2007 should be held, it would be properly organised.

Want to know, what cooking for 2007 for surfcasting and now understand that there a AGM round the conner.

I should think that the suftcasters should first help themselves, there are many among the regular suftcasters who are PeMM members. One with the consolidated support of other suftcasters should stand for election to the new management committee to represent the voice of the suftcasters. It is important for that there is someone who will be dedicated enough to suftcasting to be among the decision makers of PeMM.

If the surfcasters themselves could not be bothered, then those who are not into this very specialised sport would not be adequately equiped to plan, organise and execute a good tourney even if one is to be held.

Would you not agree with me?

ekwong, I totally agree with you....if only all the various discipline of fishing could send their representatives to be in PeMMs committee... Wouldn't that be lovely...every angler will be happy...

Guys,

Personally I think, it is not a necessity or a must to appoint or elect a learner professional or experiece surfcaster to be in committe, just a simple,idealistic and open mined person will do. It is because the tourney itself are already governed by it Rules n Regulation, more over PeMM do have the experience and the knowhow. I see what lagging here is proper management on the said event.

Referring back from day one, starting in 2003 the PeMM organized
BIG Tourney, statically it shown is on the decline. During the whole process till now, we do have experience Surfcaster involved in the committe. So the question here what when wrong?

Without Prejudice to anybody that still Alive or Decrese and been mentioned earlier here, only the 1st & 2nd Tourney are well organized, having good participants turnout with high spirit, prizes, well advance confirmation of venue and etc.

Just from personal point of view.

I’m sorry, but I have to agree with Ekwong and en rahim about this,PeMM is a National Level Association which represents all the other fishing disciplines and should ideally support any iniatives by the respective fishing clubs and associations.

You must realise that how surfcasting tourny came to be in the calender of PeMM was actually due to our collective initiatives and efforts. People like Syed, Wan Buliana and to some extent ourselves in MSC, your donation of the wonderful trophy and prizes which were direct collaboration with PeMM in making the surfcasting tourny a reality and popularising the sport to even reach the Singaporeans.

This achievement is something all surfcasters in Malaysia should be very proud of and try their level best to sustain.

Onn…moving forward, I believe the priority now is to ensure surfcasters are represented in this National Fishing Association or PeMM so that our views, grievances, initiatives are heard. Obviously, the person to represent us should be someone who has PASSION and in depth knowledge about surfcasting in order to be effective!

Not only that, I believe…that person must also have good inter-personal skills and not overly senstitive and critical to the extent that it would be detrimental to the image of surfcasting. Well, I can only see YOU as the potential candidate and fits the bill…seriously!

If all the efforts, groundwork and proposals have been presented to PeMM and when nothing is happening and it appears that there is no support, only then… as members we should be loud!

If we ourselves have not done any of the above…I think we should instead be silent or come up with our own activity calender…and not be overly critical obout the whole matter.

My view only lah…ANYWAY, YOU ALWAYS A DISTANCE WHAT???

it’s true fact that everyone can organise this as long as the person know what to go for…not really must the person need to know lot about surfcasting…yeap rules are there…weed just need person who can properly organised this…person with a lots of knowlegde,comm.skills,passion,good contacts to make this happen or well organised…we only can assist or provide about the R’n’R…problem would be the prizes,venue,court setup,marshall…

maybe Janet or Ganesan or Rainbow or EK would…we just need someone to spoke for us that’s only it…
