Thinking of making a jointed lures. This one is actually a 1 piece, since I carve 4 at a time, so decided 2 make this 1 a jointed lure. So I hack it into half..
it is about 3.75 inch. The thing is, i’ve put the weight (b4 decide 2 cut into half) so now, is the weight position still good for a jointed lure??.. can this 1 be save?
wanted to make a wide wiggle lure. So how to weight a jointed lure to make it wiggle wide? Another thing, can I just joint it with just one hinge aa?
there r small pretty small hinges that can be use for joining the lure
but nvr try it coz there mihgt b problem 2 keep the moving parts ‘moving’ [:D] n not cofident that those small screw wld hold - dont want only the front part of my lure swim bavk toward me [:D]
Suggest u do thru hole thru both piece then have wires bend like > O=======O O===========O, centre part join like what u did. Have got jelutong/epoxy join like what u propose fail on me b4. Main problem is from water entry from hairline fracture of epoxy after fight with 1st fish, 2nd fish it cabut terus.
The problem with jelutong is that it is very prone to fungus rot. That’s why every effort is needed to seal the wood from water entry after ur lure is done. When water is pooled inside lure for sometime, it just softens the wood & consequently it rots right around ur hole & epoxy, greatly weakening it.

I think I’ll go with your suggestion. But 2 drill through from front 2 back, meaning only 1 joint. I though of making 2 joints instead of 1, considering the height of the lure. Can the back portion turn upside down(with 1 joint) in action?
1 more thing, are the weight ok aa?

let see how i can explain…
the tail part is simple - make a twisted wire with a loop (like what u do) but with the 2 ends bend outward then inward again to form something like this o===<>=
the front part… make a horizontal slot that is slightly bigger than the loop (of the tail part), drill a hole from the top of the lure through the slot and the loop, insert a pin through the drilled hole n expoy, got it, i hope so [:D][:D]

Kak kak, SIsik, make sure u poinson them kau-kau. Once anyone sprayed with airbrush there’s no loking back. Rompak bank also they’ll go and get one. Heh heh.
