Lexis PD (formerly Legends Water Chalets)

Just came back on Monday. water is quite clear under the chalets, not much turbidity unless there’s a storm coming in (like on my arrival there, it rained). A few todaks and one interesting unknown specie under the rooms. I think next door at the Grand Lexis is better fishing as I met a lady who came running back with a size-able fish (large scales n eyes with a yellowish tail) in hand. Later on the 2nd night, met a few Malay abangs trying their luck at the pavilion furthest from shore. one had a bite n brought in a tiny fish about the size of a 9-year olds’ palm, released back into the sea. I tried my sabiki rig off the balcony of our unit. No bites from the fishies but lost a hook to the rocks used to stabilize the seafloor under the chalets though. Maybe next time, I’ll use proper bait.. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

thanks for sharing bro. maybe next time while fishing u can try catching crab using crab bubu/bento/trap…

Hi Kevin,

Told you to use cockles right? Squid is also another good bait for shallow waters.

didn’t have time to go shopping for bait bro…didn’t even pack an extra camp bed or sleeping bag. The “chalet” we were assigned to only had a King-sized bed n a “daybed”, house-keeping didn’t have extra mattress, pillow nor blankets…so missus n both kids slept in the King while I slept on the day-bed and used its sheets as a blanket. fortunately, I was out of the path of the aircond so it wasn’t that cold. the rest of the family had to bear the direct blast of the air-cond…

Saw lots of strings tied to the railings, pulled one up to check the catch…nothing caught. Rates was quite cheap RM40 per night per cage compared to RM30 per cage per hourly.

did you spot any belanak or tamok(mullet)trailing around? if got, can try catching them on small bread bites…quite fun also

Can always bribe the hotel staffs to supply you with sotong. I did that in Langkawi. Had to wait until 11pm when all the family members were asleep then I sneak out walk to the beach & further down to the rocks to fish in the dark, alone.

I think a guest of Lexis did end up with a mullet, I think it was caught off Grand Lexis next door, their chalets extended further out than Lexis’ chalets…the fish was silver scales, yellowish tail fin and with big eyes..
