Longkang Gang /PAW Kenyir 8th-11th December Trip

The northern region’s LKGers(me,Bowjenk,Iwan(Bowjenk’s friend),Takin and Tok Dolah) first meet up at Tok Dolah’s place at 2.45pm after they performed the Friday prayers.3.00pm we started to leave Penang and soon we picked up Are-Bear from his place at Seberang.

We traveled like there’s no tomorrow and then meeting up with a few other participants(Akashah,Peggy,Din Idola etc) of the trip at Simpang Pulai at around 8(not too sure bout the location and time as i was busy sleeping [:p] )

Along the way,we stopped by the highway to take pictures of a farm which grows some sort of vegetable. The scenery was awesome!

Many took the opportunity to stretch their legs and to have a ciggie break.

We continued our journey after 30minutes of break and then we soon stopped by at a petrol station during the wee hours in the morning. Most of the dudes took this opportunity to take a nap while waiting for others to arrive.Arin and co soon met up with us at the petrol station and we continued our never ending journey again.

Then at around 6something,we stopped by a kopitiam to have our breakfast and there is where we met the rest of the PAW boys.Picture above showing Chef Sahiran who is a superb cook that could easily match Chef Wan’s ability.Kick butt sebarau asam pedas!Yummy! [^]

2 hours later or so,we finally arrived at the entrance of kenyir

Everyone took hell loads of pictures

The signing in

ALL BOARD!!!Loading time…

Our ride to our destination took us around 3-4 hours. At the mean time, many took the opportunity to catch up with old buddies or share their fishing Bible teachings [:D]

We started fishing at 3pm and the sceneries of Kenyir were simply breath taking!

I was on the same boat with Rookie Boatman Iwan and The Ever-Humble-And-Helpful-Human-Minn-Kota Bowjenk.First cast, first sebarau! The sebaraus here fights as though they were on steroids and made me think it was a toman!yozuri altima did the trick.

On TD7 GFR

Bowjenk suggested us to head back to the mother boat as it’s already time for dinner.I checked my watch,it was 640pm.remembered otai-otais’ advice on using poppers during early in the morning or late in the evening.Wasted no time, cast in…BOOM!Juvenile toman on first cast.First career toman on skitter pop clown colour and soon we head back to the mother boat

Was transported to sit in the long boat with other PAW boys as the boat i sat in yesterday was rather small and fearing water could come from the side of the boat.Landed this sebbie with a TD7 Fire Tiger

Tried the altima but no response the whole day, switched back to the GFR,had a hook on and the sebbie was safely landed.

My boatman(Abu Gangsta) on day 2 with his toman on Shad Rap Gold Fish.

And me with the masterpiece of the trip.A KELISA on TD7 Fire Tiger!what the heck?dont kelisa feed on top water?what i did the other day was,i saw a nice location to cast to.i cast,i cranked once and BANG!hook on!we didn know it was a kelisa until it started jumping like a tarpon.Awesome fighting skills.I think i must have casted right above the kelisa’s head which triggered its instinct to whack.Who cares?WOOHOOOOO!

Beautiful fish…released safely and unharmed…

Day 3 - I was on the same boat with Tekong Terhebat Akashah,Din Idola,Dellipo and Sham(Akapiman’s husband).

Dellipo and his fish…

Double Hook-Up!!!

The captor and the captive

Left on Kenyir on Tuesday.Mother boat reached shore at 12.30pm.left finally we reached penang at 1.30am exhausted but we definitely brought back plenty of sweet memories from this trip

Conclusion : Catch rate was awesome.Averaging 8 fish per person.Personally landed 8 sebbies,1 juvie toman and 1 kelisa(only kelisa landed during the trip [:p])Sadly no badongs were landed by the participants.

my gfr is the floating type…try casting along the rocky areas…90% of my hook ups from that area…deep runners worked well compared to suspending ones…can try the cd7 or the halcos…pretty effective too…good luck in your trip…im sure you will have a blast!

bro ming,
thanks for the well wishes…bang meli and crew were all good…they braved the rain topless every single day just to get our boats ready for the next outing.

the boathouse is definitely spacious and well equipped.24pax could accomodate the boathouse though it has to be toe-to-toe when we sleep la…2 well equipped bathrooms(definitely not just poop or wee wee into the lake)…karaoke to sing your heart out and astro to watch til you go cuckoo…[8)]

only down side is,no dish washing substance(whatever you call that to wash the plates) provided.so we ended up using body soap to wash it…a bit lame in other words…hehe

apart from that, two thumbs up for the boathouse and the trip [;)]

bro jav226,
with that gfr,you will definitely land them…just make sure you get the prime spot.its always an advantage when you start to cast first to potential spots…i got only 3 sebbie lures to play with, the GFR,FT and altima…what to do,no money to buy others ma…will have to scout for more lures soon…take care and have a safe trip

Good to hear, both bang meli and crew are doing well. Who are the other 2 skippers on board, was kaduk on board ? Who was the chef?..eheh…man i miss kenyir…Its good you guys caught some awesome catches.

The last time i was there in late November, it was raining cats and dogs for the 3 days and it was scorching hot on the last day we went back !!! dammmit!!..eheh…I was there also in late June, but the catch rate for sebbies was way more compare to my november trip. Did you guys make your way to Cicir, Perpek river ?? and presume you guys parked at Terenggan area or further out near Sungai Cacing ?..

Well done guys.. glad you all had a fruitful trip !!!..cheers mate

Congrat’s to LKG’s…I think Rapala is the best lures in Kenyir…BB88, what are the biggest fish landed?

“SHUT-UP AND FISH!”
