I am participating in a Lure Making Masterclass#2 organized by Lure R More Forum with lure blanks, plans and instructions provided by Esoteric Lure. Been taking pictures of the steps involved thought you guys might like to see an abbreviated step-by-step pictorial. So here it is…

Your love of the craft is clearly visible in the tools that you use and the care that you give them.
Drilling all the holes before all the serious shaping makes a lot of sense for a couple of reasons. With the duplicator, I no longer have the luxury of drilling this early, but when I make the masters, I through drill straight after gluing the patterns on.
I also liked the pics of the swim tests. The ripples on the calm surface really tell the story of the lures action.
Thanks for posting.

Dave, I am sure with some jigs you can have a precision drilling station for the duplicator blanks too. Think molded clams that returns the cut blanks to square. [;)]

The lip cutting jig works well, but the hole cutting jigs need a bit more thought. I will crack it in the end.

Post your jigs when you get them done Dave, I am sure a lot of ppl be interested in them.

First I need to upgrade the machine. Finer cuts will remove the need to sand the bodies and give more consistent body sizes. At the moment, consistency is just not good enough and the sanding operation is taking as long as the cutting operation. I also need to increase the cutting depth. What I have is fine for 3" lures, but if I want to produce bodies larger, I will have to change to a larger wheel, driven by a hand held circular saw machine.
When I have upgraded the current machine, I will see if anyone wants to buy it, LOL. Sorry to wander off topic.

Haha no problem Dave, I understand how the mind is occupied all the time by a pet project [;)]
