monofilament or braided

Hi Guys,

this topic maybe discussed many times but am interested to know how many brothers here preferred to use the monofilament for luring as compare to braided line.

Personally, I am using braided line with a leader line for luring.

Hi Fred, same here - braided main line with short mono leader.

I use mono when fishing with cranks… and poppers…and sometimes softies
Unless I am using my cranking or top water rods then I would I would be on braids with a mono top shot

braids with flouro topshot.. when fishing jerks, softies

My gear are usually spooled with braids, just love the sensitivity, the only problem is that it is a bit scary when fishing structures like rock.

No pain no gain, dont try dont know… muahahahahaha

i use braided with flouro leader on all of my casting set..i love the sound of braided during cast…hihihi..
agree with LS, fishing at structures are scary..

fins, fang and howling reel!!

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the feedback. Ha.. with the fluro carbon leader, you will feel more relax when using braided lines fishing near the structure. The benefits of using braided is the sensitivity, virtually can feel the lure’s action and when the fish takes the lure, the feeling is damn shiok[:D]

fred, i agreed with all the points you mentioned above.plus braided line has a smaller diameter campare to mono which means i can load more meter into the spool[:D]

Yes bro roHu, you can put in more line since the diameter is thinner for the small poundage of line. Since Sufix has been under Rapala, I am using the Performance Braid now and very impressed by it as the line is “rounder” and casting is good. [:D]

i used 10lb braided and 1.5m fluoro carbon of 20lbleader.reason to use long leader is for safety reason(always cast at rocky area)
and 1 thing i like using braided line becoz of small diameter and easy to cast and also can make lure swim very relistic[;)]
