Murky water condition

Hi to all, just wanted to ask everyones opinion
on fly fishing in murky waters.

Would it be possible to get a hookup
as the fishes would not be able to see the fly
that we present in murky waters.

Im asking because i was fly fishing in a pond
which has murky water. The other ppl who were there
were using dedak and were puling up lampam and
tilapia.Me on the other hand, was casting for hours
with nothing taking the fly.

hi there,
i’m may not be the best person to explain this but, the purpose of the fly tied so meticulously is to imitate the possible food of the fish. if the fish can’t see, i guess it won’t be able to take. i think…? sifus kindly clarify, tq.

speaking of murky waters, i noticed pink, chartreuse & fluoro colors works really well compared to other colours. have fished in a few ponds which has murky or near ‘teh-ais’ color before and had my share of fish on chartreuse & pink clousers/charlies

WAR: it’s not about who’s RIGHT, it’s about who’s LEFT

hi FT, thanks for the reply.
Yeah,i share the same pool of
thought.
But i wanted clarification from
the other fly fishers here who have
vast experience in fly fishing.

So i guess, its a no no to fly in
teh ais waters.

hei reuben.what FT said is true and in my opinion you can use gurgler, popper in which the size may varies depending the species you’re after.

Hi there. In off color water most fishing articles I have read recomend using a dark fly where the silhouette of the fly is more visible to the fish. Black bulky flies like a woolly bugger or muddler that imitate leeches and sculpins are classic turn-to patterns for colored water conditions.

i can off agree with steelhead, darker colour flies for murky waters, but using surface flies like gurgler’s & popper’s you shouldn’t have any problem’s
