NEW ! Rapala X Rap Tropical Colors

Greetings,

Just wish to share with everyone on the new Rapala X-Rap Tropical Colors that is launched not long ago by Rapala. Realized that, there is no thread started on this 4 new native colors in Malaysia. I guess, every angler in this fraternity should be blessed, that Rapala VMC has work and listen closely to all your concern in any sorts of fishing ramblings.

Hence, Rapala VMC has took a milestone leap to work on something unique everytime. Even from the exciting comeback of Fat Rap, Risto Rap and even now the new Rapalero rods ! which is worth salivating all over again.

Allow me to share the artworks and the whole journey of this exciting dream to be designing for Rapala (World’s Famous). By far, its a priceless experience to see my designs being produced in end product and seeing it marketed to the public. To me, its a sense of accomplishment to be able to meet every anglers wish to have our own native lure colors in Malaysia.

Now, every angler can stand tall using this new X-Rap colors with more brighter confidence in working this lures in the water. This new X-Rap colors has hit the market not more than a month and it’s seen to be catching a wide spread of species out there in our waters.

Apart from that, I have a few friends that told me that they have caught Toman, Sebarau, Haruan, Barramundi, etc. They seem to be getting good catches from this new color lures. I smiled and answered them “It was the confidence instinct that caught you the fishes”.

Lets hope, this new colors could boost up every anglers confidence and continue to fish hard exploring interesting elements of fishing on the water !

Thank you Ming for sharing. Let us post whatever catches on Ming’s design in this thread. We certainly hope to see more catches on these wonderful colours and we will slowly extend the range to other models![:D]

True enough, ive got suggestions from many people to put onto different models especially the Clackin’ Rap, TailDancer, Shad Rap, so as the skitter pops too !..

apart from the rosbara design it’s all kudos for the great job done! pls accpet my sincere apologies for the late congratulation Ming bro

anyway i still dont find them around yet, hasnt been shopping much lately hehe boh lui lol… therefore couldnt comment much but i guess the pictures speaks for themselves, another thumbs up for the lures! will try to source for them soon for field testing

Thanks for the support and kind words. My utmost pleasure to design such lures for our local waters and myself would like to use this lures.

Its already out in tackle shop, get em and let the fish be wary about whats passing in front of their eyes !..ahahah..will be field testing them in Air Kuning tmr, it shud be a blast !!

Hey brother, I have all 4 colors and only manage to test out last weekend !!..

and the results was quite impressive…ehehe await for the poisonous picture :wink:

Have you own all 4 of them ? get it at your nearest tackle store…

cehhh like a advertisement oni…ahaha

This tropical version is going to be a limited production or ongoing?
Will this version comes in 10cm size?

At this moment, we are checking with our factory with their schedule to make these colours our regular colours and as well as extending to other popular sizes. Definitely size 10cm is one of them [:D]

Thanks Fred for the info.. good to hear that.. i’ve observed that the green chicla is the hot selection in market.. soon the stock will finish if this stuff is limited prod.

get info this xrap only for malaysian market..the colour just like baby toman, sebarau n PB..rapala get this colour from survey with malaysian caster ..btol ke?

Btw, if you read the 1st posting this 4 new colors is designed locally and its meant to match the life-like sebarau, PB, toman fries and our seluang. I actually designed it :wink: for Rapala Lure Competition sometime last year…Make sure you grab a set of it and give a go !..

On the brighter side of it. I manage to wet this 4 new colors over the last weekend with some close buddy over in Air Kuning.

It has been quite sometime to hit something that worth going into the records when I finally got my 2nd best personal best Peacock Bass catch. Best thing it was on a Rapala X-Rap Tropical Chicla color !!

A great feat indeed.


This lunker measured at close 50cm and weighs at 2kg.

The day started off really slow, with the water level rising and the PBs were all scattered everywhere. We were doing land base fishing and that made it even more challenging lurking for them.

We were casting at our favorite spot which is infested with floating vegetation on the surface. The rises and frenzy started picking up as the sun started warming up the waters, as the early morning was mostly overcast till about 10am. We tried various lures from topwater, jerkbait to sinking minnows, but no avail. The amount of rises and frenzy across the weeds was so tantalizing but they were not bothered about our lures. Perseverance paid off as I spend casting that same area for more than 30 minutes and was rewarded with this finicky bass that finally gave in. We caught a handful of PBs that day among 5 of us with the other one measuring approx 46cm in length.
