On 12/04/2008 me and a bunch of friends went to OFB - One Fathom Bank. All of them are first timer to OFB and most of them are bloggers not anglers…hehehe…[:D]
This is a story of OFB - One Fathom Bank by a non angler Ighost…[:D]

This trip like many of our MyKlang stories began with a feast. And it happened not on just any other ordinary day. It happened on a day Malaysian History was changed (though we did not realized it then). March 8 - a day all Malaysian of this and future generations will always remember. When a political tsunami swept the go~ment boat and badly damaged it giving renewed hope to the people. Some of us had voted, others will be doing soon but like the sentiment of the rest of the country, it was a table of malcontents. So when a man came and distributed buttons with the smiling face of a ruling party candidate, he got an earful and beat a hasty retreat. When asked where we were on that fateful day, none of us will ever forget - we were having Bak Kut Teh!

For we were there to have a meeting to discuss our trip to One Fathom Bank coming April 12. By the time I arrived with Lemon Angel, Kurauking, Kimmy, Kobzng, Pooh88, Aircraft and two newcomers - pstan82 and Genio were already there and eating. The whole country was boiling over the brim and we make sure our soups were too for we really believe in the adage - “never fight on an empty stomach.”
No one seemed to bother that the serious discussions on the trip took slightly more than 5 minutes and the eating the rest. The purpose after all is to have fun. And to MyKlang members, not many things can beat piping hot good food. Come to think of it, it could be we were super-efficient, ya, that sounds better than food addicts. We were super-effective food addicts. Stomach full, we relaxed and settled down lazily to discuss anything under the sun including politics. Later that night, we were all be again be online in the forum discussing the political upheaval in the most exciting election we have ever known. Our trip started on a day the country has a new hope, a new dream and hopefully a new future. Looked like our trip could not have started on a more auspicious day! We have created history! Ordinary men and women like us having breakfast on a lazy Saturday…[:D]

We decided to choose yesterday to go shopping for essential for the trip. Alex had his trip ready but he kept leaving it in his car. Kurau & me had our cameras ready. But the most sporting of all is Gneeley who until now had not decided whether she will join her not-so-exciting friends in Penang or our very-exciting group to OFB. No brainer, Gne. In spite of that she accompanied us while a NUMBER of PPL who should be there all FFK. They can watch while we wallop those food. Anyway, consistent with our quality; before we start anything, we had a MAKAN!!![:D]

We had the famous curry laksa at the back of the Cathay Cinema in Klang. It had been a number of years since I was there. I parked the car so Ikan could sit himself first and he rewarded me by not ordering my laksa. He said he don’t know what to order when only laksa is available. Rocket scientist. Anyway, as I was taking shots while approaching the store, an old man with one knee up his stool loudly shouted “What the F### am I taking picture for??” I ignored that group of rude old men and shouted without looking “Not taking your pic, dude!” Alex told me that the half hour he was here waiting for us, there has been none stop expletives from them. They are probably old time gangsters who think they are still in their youth. First caution - shopping can be dangerous from toothless old men.

Because of Kurau’s ample generosity, I have to nurse this drink of sugarcane lime while he slurped on his noodles loud enough to wake up the dead, not waiting for me. With friends like that, who needs enemy?

Finally, my curry laksa came and it was worth the wait. Is it because our memory played tricks on us or is it was really better all those years ago? I felt the soup was not as rich as before. It was still good but my memory told me it was greater then. We had to drive through the Klang crawl to reach our destination to shop - Tesco Bukit Tinggi.

And instead of helping us do the necessary, Kurau went and chat up the SYT in the camera shop. See how engrossed his expression was? Come to shopping - Kurau is not much help.

You see or not? The minute he was in the Supermart, he became dazed like a deer staring at the approaching headlight.
So stunned that he did not even notice when another forummer (Tony Wee) who shopping passed him by.
I tried to follow those eyes but I still cannot figure out what is that he saw…[:D]
Then, suddenly Alex came running -
“I Got it! I Got it!”
And what in heaven’s name did he get that got him all so hot and excited???
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
.
HOT DOGS!!![:D]
Now, don’t the rest of you regret you did not join us that day? Such drama! They have to reinforced security…[:D]

Now they were burning up brain cells figuring out what to buy next. Decisions, decisions, decisions. These brains are just not make for shopping…

And while they are still deep into the figuring territory, a figure in red came and stole what they have just bought. It was a comedy of error…[:D]

This is what the super-efficient shoppers bought after half an hour and walking round the supermarket 3 times. The condom was put back again and replaced with the chilli sauce. Kurau got expensive taste. No ordinary nescafe for him. He went for the GOLD ROAST! Wooooh!! Still within budget. Still within budget, he said…[:D]

At first - there was ONE MAN with the GUN.

Then - there were TWO MEN with -
ketchup and Orang Juice bottles…[:D]

You thought they were confused? You ain’t see nothing yet!
Come to the kitchen wares section and they were totally lost.
Alex pointed to the sky and what is up there???[:D]

But Kurau understood immediately what was said -
He reached out for it.

Alex pointed to the sky.
Kurau understood and knew what to buy.

These are essential.
Man must eat, ghost must also eat.
Gold paper to sprinkle all the way from Port Klang to One Fathom Bank.

When we shop, we really shop.
Not only for the living but also for the dead…[:D]

After getting heaven paper, we continue to look for things useful…

And Kurau FOUND IT!!!
But wat he wan to do with it, I haven’t the faintest idea.
Must be for some really twisted wicked purpose - Look Out!

Alex thought it a great idea too!
So he gave that brainac a bong!
I wonder if they are following these in CCTV![:D]

Diapers too expensive.
But we have got kitchen papers - easier to cover the backside ma.
Look the cart is FULL!

And Alex is happy his duty is DONE![:D]

Shoppings done. Time to tally up and pay.

And it is not percuma!

All in 43 items and RM226.59…[:D]

Shopping is done and paid for. Despite the havoc we created in Tesco, we did not get detained or arrested. From toilet paper (rough big ones - ladies who want soft perfumed one, buy yourself :D) to paper plates, from Nescafe to Chili Sauce, from drinking water to plastic cups, from hot dogs to can opener, from joss sticks to heaven money, we got it all; we think. If we don’t, we will suffer for it, just hope it is nothing that will create permanent damage.
Load the whole stuff into Alex’s car who is worried that it is not big enough to accomodate…

But we got them all safely in…[:D]
We began the shopping with a makan. We naturally end the shopping with a makan as well. After some deliberations on what to eat, Kurau says A & W! So there we went…[:D]

And he demonstrated how to suck a root beer float and…[:D]

the proper way to eat a Corney Dog. First you kiss it…[:D]

Then you lick it…[:D]

Then you chomp it down in one go…[:D]
To Be Continue…[:D]
