I will be going offshore Penang, and will be doing some offshore fly fishing when I am there. The place I am fishing will mainly be day time ‘karang’ and night time ‘wreck’.
Mostly we are targeting bottom fishes and perhaps some top to mid water fishes. I would like to target trevally, cuddas, and any other species that can be caught top water.
Can anyone please advise any flies that I can use there? Thanks!

I believe the regular saltwater flies like Clousers, Deceivers and Surf Candy and anchovy patterns should work quite well. Although I must admit, I’ve not done much offshore fly fishing myself.
Pak Amin would be the best person to answer you as he has tons of experience under his belt. PAK!!! Where are you??? [:D]
Anyway, probably the biggest challenge would be in getting the fishes to rise up high enough in the water column so you could cast to them with a fly.
Perhaps you can share your experience and let us know which flies and method worked for you.
Good luck on your trip! [:D]
