I’d like take some time to introduce to you a celebrated Chef from New York. He’s the Culinary Director for Passionfish (a non-profit organisation that helps in many ways, the conservation and sustainability of Seafood) and sits in the faculty for the Culinary Insitute of America. He’s none other than Chef Gerard Viverito.

A commendable person who helps advocate the conservation of fish stock, sustainable fishing practices etc.
In our world today, as we all know that the way we catch fishes and wasting them, in no time, we will not have enough seafood to support our 7 billion-strong population (and still growing).
We should start now in order to have a sustainable seafood, meat livestocks etc. not only for us but for our next generations to come.
Hopefully, some of us out there can take the lead and create something like what Chef Gerard did, and is currently doing in the USA. To perhaps, organise a non-profit organisation that help to instill and educate fishermen and consumers on the sustainable fishing. We, sports fishermen also should advocate and do the same.
Maybe, our landlord can take the lead..? [:D]
After all, he has done wonders on this site.
So, do take some time to read on fish conservation, sustainable practices etc. and we may be able to build a foundation for our future generation. You never can tell…

Chef Gerard also created the Hudson Valley Fishmonger website that actually links up with sustainable fishermen and consumers together to only buy types of seafood on order.
Then, he gets the fishes from sustainable catch through various appointed fishermen.
It does sound like a long process but a ‘start’ is what we need.
