hi brother,

never chiok me to go ..[:p][:p][:p]

our early sept trip dun need so many ebeks, few enough .. [:I][:I] main target will be leather jack and sotong… long time never LJLJ…

FYI, leather jacket must wait until sotong LJLJ 2 weeks time…
But then sotong not yet LJLJ lol..

kohE,
your total 2 days ebek catch shall weight more than 100kg, I think.
you eat them all? how you cook it?
I found ebek value on table is lower then their game fish value. My boatmate and me will stop fishing ebek after each on boat got their thrill.
As for Ah Hong, I think he hauled and make at least > 1,000+ ebek with very good game fish value disappeard from Pekan waters since February this year.
Hope he need not find a new job in few years to come.
Good catch, nevertheless … Cheers!

Ktang,

Agree with you~! for me,any trevallies over 800gm would be very rough.

I’ve tried cooking 1kg diamond trevally cook steam and asam pedas,

texture wasn’t that good compare below 800gm.

I seriously wonder what is the best method to cook those DT over 5kg.

Perhaps KohEvo can share your cooking method?[:)][:)]

Those >5k DT, best cook is just curry…
Ever tried at Kuantan, local ppl called “Ma Mi”
A bit like sweet sour but dry type…

Overall catch is about 150k… we took back 40k…
Another 110k cover day 1 expense…

have not tried that Ma Mi cooking style before and unlikely willing to cook it with such wonderfull game fish.
with RM 700 per 110kg, you get something like RM 6.40/kg.
do you think if you pay that price of 3 x RM 6.40, you will continue to get another and yet another ebek peeling your line with speed of what pekan’s skipper azahar called “F1” in future?

Hi Tang, my personal felt.. fishing is to enjoy the processes which money is another issue i think [;)]…"¿ÉÓö²»¿ÉÇó¡°…
Most important to bring my buddy which came back from China.. purposely to hunt the “F1” runner…

nice caught…[:D][:D]

For 3 or 5kg DT, u can try make soup and curry with that head part.
The body, you can try cook with ‘kacang kuning’(forgot the name). I tried it last month for 4Kg DT[:D][:D][:D]

nice catch bro…big fish..last month..no big fish at karang ngah,but at karang luas..fuh.lot of “merah” n “kerapu”..[

nilai/sepang

as now i think to take or not is up to individual to decide..
provided that’r laws to govern fishing sport or certain size, bag limit..

or

provided fishing.net or someone can organize & working with ALL the pekan’s guides to make ebek or GT a CNR species just like sail..then u have my 100% support..

else this another never ending story…

Kthang…Seababy… I have try eating this DT in Assam Curry,Lemak Curry, Stem or Deep fry… The thing is the meat in this DT tends to be soggy unlike GT 800gm to 1.5Kg if u deep fried it then simmers with oil n cut onions, cili padi, garlic plus abit of black thick soy cauce…mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm it tase yummy…

Whenever we fish in P9 and have GT’s we would go to Ah Mu Seafood restoran (Stiawan) n he knows how we want it to be cook…

For Barracuda he will cut it into cube’s deep freid it and then simmers it in dry curry,

Try it guys… satu kali maken, dua kali mau…heheheheh

super catch from pekan!! well done bros..!!
