thx for the review wkl2020 bro..
make me more confident to buy this reel.. [:D][:D][:D]

Hmmm… this reel was interesting for me at first… good looking, nice body shape, solid feel… but some how the smoothness and drag on some other reels are better for the same price IMHO… I suppose this reel to be rugged and durable…

“Out for the thrill, not for the kill!”

Oh yea…forgotten to mentioned that this reel is also suitable for saltwater usage. I have been using it in saltwater for sometime now. Find it to be robust and needs minimal care. Just rinse it properly. So far no signs of rust yet.</font id=“purple”>

Wong Sifu,

Is the ryobi metaroyal 5000 comparable/on par with this Penn?
Line capacity, drag, features, power (gear ratio), value for money …

if i’m not mistaken, the metaroyal is 3-4 times the price of the sargus.

WAR: it’s not about who’s RIGHT, it’s about who’s LEFT

I now can further attest to the quality of this reel. I used the 2000 series for my fishing in BSR, BKK recently to fight titans. After them fights I had the reel checked for damage or worn parts. Everything are intact and in good condition. Initially when I wanted to use this reel there, my guides were quite stunned/sceptical as its such a small reel but they were proven wrong. I really wanted to try out wheter this reel will last or not. My instinct was correct[^] </font id=“purple”>

Wong Sifu,
is this the reel paired with the (ultra)light rod that used the 15lb line (at BSR)? if it isn’t, what reel was that, please?

" A bad workman blames his tools " … but in your case, the complete opposite is true !

From the images, I would have imagined that they would have even pulled your underpants off ! … but SYABAS !!! A job well done.

p.s. I am now going to keep my Sargus under lock and key. [:D]

Thanks very much, Wong Sifu.
Plan to pair an ultralight with an ABU, too.

You may wanna consider a penn sargus 2000…small, cute, powerful and long lasting. Would be perfect with your custom rod[8D]</font id=“purple”>
