*Recommended* - Don't you just hate fishing?

kram… good work man. cheers. one of the best article that i have come across in MFN. look forward to reading your article in R&L soon.

no fish no glory!!!

hellos KRAM … thats definitely one of the best written article i have read in a long time … regardless .. well done !! [:D]

kram,
really nice write up…made us think sometimes why we actually fish! my reason? to get away from this hectic life of mine…to add pleasure to ease all the pressure.

vince,
eh..dun be like this la.. make me shy nia.. ahaha… i think Wahoo’s write up on the sebaraus was the best! anyways, sorry for the late replies…haven’t participated since so long ago. hmmm…didn’t actually fished during CNY, but i managed to catch a mermaid and boy, the fight was really good but rearing it is really tough! no catch n release for this one, just catch n keep…ehehehehe…

I have made this topic sticky. So now whenever you log in from the main page, this would be on top.

This article is a must read now for those who seek to understand why you do this sport, and for all the newbies to understand the spirit of this pursuit. Also, to ignite those who lost the fishing spirit and rekindle why you go out in the first place.

Kram, I have broken the paras into separated lines but no content changes were done. Hope that is fine with you.

Regards,
Vincent

Hi Mark,

You have shown the other side of you which is KRAM in your writing dated 14.2.05 and I suggest you send the same article to R & L for the benefits of those who dont come to this Forum.

The joys and frustrations from fishing are tricky. They play on each and everyone of us who hold the rod. For you the intensity of your feelings was at the peak. The flow in your language was natural. This same intensity was displayed by Jungle Bum in his earlier articles to Rod and Line. Good brothers both of you.

We are lucky. The encouragement from MFN is positive. Keep up with the good work.

I think most of us have a no-fish story to tell! But kram’s story just about sums it all up!
And the Banding trip was something id like to forget, especially when our friend sild hooked a 67kg specimen on a rubber frog!
Plus it’s refreshing to know JB didnt catch that many!!

Hope you guys share more witty stories!

We Did Not Inherit The Fish From Our Ancestors
We Borrow Them From Our Children

The sort of story to make you sigh and smile.

I even like the blocky huge paragraphs. Makes reading feel breathless, with nothing to be breathless about. It brings out the excitement and ensuing anti-climax of the angler without even trying. Funny enough just like that.

Victory belongs to those who believe it the most, and believe it the longest.

Kram … PeMM needs a kopiwriter once a while for writeups… can add you to the team?. Keep those fingers busy man… a good read on fishing is rare these days.

Kram,

Wat do you do for living?
Hey, your story writting skill is breath and beat taking, no joke.

Keep writting and MFN visitor will increase!

As a newcomer myself, I personally feel this is the kind of article that makes fishing more interesting.

Bravo Kram. Keep up the good work. Hope to get more from you in the near future.[:)]

Fishing Can Be Extremely Interesting If You Know What It’s All About.

Hey, how about somebody now coming up with a write-up - ā€œDON’T YOU JUST LOVE FISHING?ā€

I think most fishermen have the same syndrome. Mr Kram would have suffered if he did not catch the fishing bug while he was young but only bitten by it when entering his adult life. These experiences are a natural process for anyone becoming a real and better angler. To stop fishing will only cause severe withdrawal symptoms.

However, living in the concrete jungle, you are more likely to catch the flu bug than the fishing bug. Don’t you think you have been blessed by being bitten by the right bug?

Life without a passionate hobby or an obsession is like a blank piece of paper. To a fisherman we have written nothing on it until there is a story of the monster fish that got away.

Tell us more about the big ones that had got away, so that we know there are still big ones out there. Tell us that you did not catch anything, so that we know the big ones that had got away are still out there for us to catch.

Why do we bother going fishing - because there are waters.

That’s why I always love this article. It not only reflects onto fishing but life in general as well; sometimes to get to heaven, we all need to go through some hell.

Regards,
Vincent

Heaven is when we get fish, hell is when we don’t. Either way, I know you’ll still carry on fishing.

Whether you get fish or not you still go fishing, why why why??? When you have the chance to go fishing, there is no hell, but heaven all the way, you go fishing because you need to follow the path of your choice, your freedom, your peace of mind, you return home with the sense of satisfaction, after breathing hours of fresh air you have a
good appetite you polih up your dinner, have a good night rest and do your routine work the next day looking forward to another outing with your friends..fishing healthy, makes a person patient, young and wise!!

Fresh air - you can say that again. Nothing so exhilarating as the breath of sea breeze blowing in your face! I have this one lawyer friend from Johor Bharu who frequents my place at least twice a month. He’s already past 70. In the evening, he would take off his shirt, lay a mat and lie down at the edge of the jetty until past midnight each time (i.e. before the dew falls). And when he does his early morning walk and do a little bit of tai-chi, the fresh air that he breathes is without doubt, complimentary.

Back to ā€œcivilisationā€ and you get headaches and choking feelings taking in the pollution. But KL or any other towns here in our beautiful country is still tolerable compared to Jakarta. Over there, as you drive, you could virtually see the smokey polluted air hovering in front of you almost like the fog of London!

Let’s have more green in our country!

Back in civilisation, I get this I get that, headache, running nose, but when I go fishing everything gone, fresh air and fishing cure everything…
