Hi guys.. When I was young, I notice a nice looking rod call “Red Wolf”.. Most of it I found is either black or red.. Want to know is it good? I heard one of my friend using it to tackle toman.. He said the rod is too solf.. Because he is using 9 ft rod, so the action will be slow and tip will be very very flexible.. But he said regardless of the bending, the rod is very evry nice to handle..
So I want to know some opinion on this rod.. Ever heard??
Hmm.. I think should be as when I saw it I was only 14 years old.. [8D]
When I check the website, the rod is bulid with a combination of graphite and fibreglass (no wonder it is so flexible).
And I found out most of the carp anglers in Europe use this rod to fish.. Claming that the flexibility of the fibreglass plus the lightness of the graphite is a good combination for such fishing..
They been using more than 12 ft rod.. Wowww… Hopefully I can get a baitcasting one as it turns out quite rare.. Cos most of the baitcasting kaki like stiffer rod..
Composite FG / Graphite is very common nowadays - but the long length that you are looking at could severely restrict your choice.
I have seen people pole fishing in the UK where they even need a rest to place their very long rods - but this is a different type of fishing.
Normally the rods that we use are determined by what fish we are targeting and the kind of environment. Why would you want such a long rod for Bait casting application ? It could be quite a handful.
On a related note, our Jungle Bum has written about his long rod adventures before - believe he fondly calls it " Porky " or something like that. Maybe he can help ?
Not that I want the long rod for baitcasting, just that I want the baitcasting version rod. As I have a friend using a red wolf 6 ft 2 piece casting rod in red colour.. The performance is very very good.. Hookup a tilapia but the flex is very very good.. Comparable to Ugly Stick rod.. But thanks for the info for long rods.. And maybe I can stock some of the long in my room ya.. Hehehehehe.. At least I can use it to pluck some fruits.. Hahhahaha..
