Thanks for the info. I've been sourcing lubricant from the US with premium price, didn't know I can get it locally

This is helpful info on maintanance for all my reels…many thanks to the kind ppl here…[;)]Btw. are there any service shops near shah alam by chance…

Synco make the Abu reel oil & lube. Basically they’re the same.

I don't know your reason for your choice, I've just get myself these;

Originally posted by otyew pukau, i'm getting it because it is more economical than getting the abu grease. the size can finish after 1 round of service and the price is not that cheap. btw, may i know where did you get this? how is the grease and etc? i'm getting that brand of grease/oil because it was highly recommended but it was a US brand, so not sure if it is possible to get it here. i need something like a tub like that.....may i know the price as well?
Wow! What reel would that be or how many of them do you actually service per session?

I use 2-3 baitcaster each time & full service them after each outing which is once/twice per month. The abu lube would last almost a year and still have plenty of the oil even after 3+ years. However, that’s history, now I use combination of abu pen oiler for bearings, cal’s grease for drag & ags lithium grease for everything else.

I have not use the new Penn X1R lube yet! They’re blue now compared to milky colored previously which in my opinion is a terrible grease. This new grease is available in 1lb tub and i get it from the link angelfish posted above.

oic! No wonder, I only grease moving parts. Anyway, I might able to score the 3oz tube Super Lube & maybe even the spray can, will update with the info once i’ve get it.

Just a question, when opening a new spinnig reel case.. i found that the grease is not evenly applied, is that because grease move out due to gear movement or is it standard factory greasing style?

Usually a new reel have a lot of grease applied by it manufacturer like an Abu Ambassadeur reels. May be your reel is just one of the over looking reel that need to put a grease.

Don’t do that, it will make your reel very heavy to turn. Use light grease and never never over grease. Always use recommended grease from Daiwa, Penn or Shimano.

RK,

Those grease i give it to you is a low viscosity type where it is suitable to use for light type machine such as bearing type.
Please bear in mind on how you apply those grease only.Actually grease & lubricants are same just grease are added thickener.
Normally if you want to apply grease on the bearing , apply to max half of the bearing only, dont cover the whole bearing with greases.
