any reports from the east? replies appreciated
Just came back from rompin 2 days ago. Weather is ok, water also not too choppy. In 2 days of fishing the report is as follow :
Cobia - 3 Pieces (Biggest about 10kg) encounter a school while bottom fishing, 4 rods bend simultaneously, 2 hook up and only one landed.
Tenggiri - 3 pieces (Biggest about 5kg) Caught two on jig and one on drifting live bait.
Queenfish - 2 Pieces (Biggest about 6kg) Caught while drifting live bait
Black tip shark - 1 Piece (Abt 7kg)
We also caught alot of bottom dwellers such as chermin, groupers.

Any good tekong you recommend to fish there? never fish there even stay in Pekan, plan to have a trip…

I only use Steven Choong all this years fishing at K. Rompin. Hardworking, funny and definately can get u some decent fish even on a rough day. For his contact you can check on rod & line directory section. cheers.

Just got back from Kuantan 2 days ago with my bro ( happyhour fisherman)… the weather is perfect except there are not much fish landed… roughly estimate about 25 to 30 nos of table size kelapu and 5 trophy parrot fish… the local tekong told us that day fishing in april and may are excepted to less active compare to june, oct and nov… but the weather during the said period will be rough… during our trip, numerous of sinker is loss due to the barracuda is messing around with our catch… my bro landed zero fish in morning and noon on the other hand i landed my 1st parrot fish in the morning… the game begin about 4pm when my bro hit 3 parrot fishs in the same spot… not bad for us who 1st time there and fish parrot fish… overall, the trip is consider not bad for local standard but it is a bit dissappointed for us who always fish in Sabah where every spot landed about more 10 fishs before going to another spot…the next trip will be hitting for Pekan, rompin and merchung…
Go to heaven, fish like hell !
